Title: crosman 2240 should stock
Post by: pcp_Dave on May 27, 2017, 10:52:01 PM
I ordered a 14.5" barrel and stock for my 2240. Everything fits and looks and better yet shoots great.
Only issue I built this for my grandson and the stock is really long. It's like 16.5" trigger pull length.
Has anyone tried to cut one of those down and glue it back together? Ideas ??
Thanks...

i would cut off the butt part then remove the required amount and screw the butt part back on. i'm sure there are many ways to go about it though.

peace

I also found the Crosman stock to be a tad too long for what I was looking for.

I cut the end off, shaped a piece of wood with a bit of rubber mat to finish the end, then screwed it back in place.

Dave, if a fixed length will work okay for your needs, chopping the Crosman stock is the best bang for the buck.  However when I built up a 2240 HPA conversion for my boys to shoot (aged 6-11), I decided an adjustable stock was the way to go so everyone could use it comfortably.  I picked up one of these from ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/ON-SALE-RAP4-GXG-Tippmann-Model-98-Custom-Carbine-Butt-Stock-Sniper-Paintball-/201935432280 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ON-SALE-RAP4-GXG-Tippmann-Model-98-Custom-Carbine-Butt-Stock-Sniper-Paintball-/201935432280)

And made an adapter from a couple of pieces of PVC to attach it to a shopmade SSG:

Here's how it turned out:

I know making an adapter isn't for everyone and there seems to be several ready made adapters.  I think this one from GMAC is the least expensive, not sure about shipping though.  http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/epages/BT3197.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3197/Products/002-0822 (http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/epages/BT3197.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3197/Products/002-0822)

I ended up going with a Tippmann stock for mine too.

I got my adapter from Charles Mellon.  Not sure about shipping cost, and sometimes there's a wait for parts but I think it was the least expensive option I found.

Here's a link to Mr. Melon's adapters.

Well just ordered the mellon adapter and the stock from ebay.
Good thing I only paid $11 for the crosman stock.....it's a write off....
I need a lite scope now. the red dot I have has a problem with windage and will not set.
Boy once you start messing with these little guns it's down the rabbit hole......:)

You can try to glue a piece of pvc for a cheek rest like this https://youtu.be/8oQdUef8Xb8?t=391
