Title: Stepped over
Post by: Cjs180 on May 24, 2017, 10:46:34 PM
In late March of this year I purchased a Hatsan 95 gas vortex qe.  Had to send it in a month later for some warranty work however while it was out I purchased a new Benjamin Discovery in 22 caliber. All I can say is wow what an upgrade! The Hatsan was great and drove tacks at 30 yards but the disco does it even better and all I have to do is pump it once in a while. My only problem now is I have hardly any pests left to control. With the Hatsan in April I took 17 HOSP  and 24 starlings. Have only taken 1 HOSP in May with the Hatsan. Have seen another on my trail camera on the feeder but only while at work. Sooner or later more will show up to trash my bluebirds and tree swallows. I would have purchased the Disco to begin with but I didn't even know about PCP air rifles until I found this form.

So thanks to everyone for all the information but you are costing me money! I am thinking I will probably sell the Hatsan soon because I just don't see myself using it any longer.

Shoot straight!  Chris

Keep the Hatsan- I shoot my 95QE regularly as it forces me to maintain shot discipline.  Plus it has a gorgeous stock :D

Congrats on coming over to the darkside Chris!!! The really nice thing about the Discovery is you're never going to have to worry about parts, Crosman is about the best company to deal with when ordering parts and more reasonable then any other place out there for their parts.

You are doomed!

Do you want an even better Disco?.............Replace the stock trigger

I have noticed there are a lot of parts for the Crosman's.  I did pick up a TKO brake and a barrel band from Ebay based on research I had done on this forum.  Haven't received either of those items yet but the gun still shoots great.  It is louder than my Hatsan but not as loud as my old Gamo 1200.  I did have 3 HOSP's land in the garden this morning at 35 yards and only 2 left.

I have read a lot of complaints on the trigger.  Honestly I am not that bothered by it. I like the Hatsan's better as I had adjusted it. I think it will just take some getting used to.  I may end up replacing it yet as it looks to be a simple mod.

Thanks,

Chris

Sure, you can adapt and get used to the stock trigger, but getting a decent after market trigger is like going from a spring piston to a pcp..........just as you have found out. And yes, the trigger swap out is very simple.

Any recommendations on where to purchase an aftermarket trigger?

I believe this is where I got mine. The written instructions kinda stinks, but there are Youtube vids on installation.

I saw some on Amazon.  Same seller had an aluminum, brass and plastic trigger. Different prices of course.
