My first airgun repair/refurb will be on a Viper .177.
I will start with the breech seal, chrono and go from there. If it's way off I'll buy the spring/seal kit from air rifle headquarters. I am looking for illustrated or good video teardown help. Can anyone point me in a good direction? Related pointers also welcome. I am mechanically competent.

just Google air rifle schematics and take your pick.
All Gamo piston guns are fundamentally the same and you will be surprised how simple they are.
A spring compressor is a great help, just about essential but a sash cramp with masking tape padding is just as good.

You can try these: http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/airguns-parts/gamo-vipermax-airgun.htm (http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/airguns-parts/gamo-vipermax-airgun.htm)

Teardown is straightforward and much like other break barrel spring piston air rifles. It is not necessary (or even desirable) to remove the barrel when changing seals.

Go to the charliedatuna site, there are some videos on there on how to change the trigger, shows how to disassemble. There are also some articles in the GTA Library...

OK, thanks a lot folks.

This video is worthless. Only shows stock removal.
Much better more up-to-date now available on YouTube. Not allowed to post link here.

This thread is over 5 years old, I should hope that there are newer videos out there....
CharlieDaTuna had some good videos and the GTA Library had some, I haven't looked in a while.
