Title: Front sling stud is loose
Post by: Deckard1973 on April 22, 2017, 05:05:37 PM
So, generally I shoot from the prone.  Either sling supported, NRA High Power rifle style or bi-pod (Harris stud mounted).
Noticed, switching back and forth between the two styles, so many times, the stud is now loose.
Any recommendations?

Note:  this is on a Marauder, wood stock.

Take it out and screw it back in with Epoxy glue.

Even tho I have a sling on my SynRod .22 I really don't trust them. It's new to me and I just had to put it on.... probably take it back off.

I was considering the same thing!
Thank you!

That should work. I have also drilled a larger hole and filled with epoxy bedding compound, something hard, like Marine Tex. When cured, you can drill and tap your hole. In that instance, I would used the finer threaded stud meant for screwing into metal.

Thank you for the information.
I might go that route.
