Because I carry the rifles on the bicycle along with a shooting stick when going to the woods, I need more than a regular sling. So I modified the Benjamin sling I bought earlier. I didn’t know what the proper name for this sling is; so I call it a "Double Sling.” The shooting stick will be attached to the rifle using a velcro strap. This way the rifle and shooting stick will become a unit and stay secure to my back if I should take a fall from the bicycle [it has happened a couple time already.] The second strap is part of a dog leash I found on the road while bicycle riding. Easy on - easy off!

Nice setup!

David, after I try it out a couple of time on some actual hunts next month, I will revisit this thread. So far, I have just slipped it on and off in the house. It actually goes on fairly easily and stays very secure. More later . . . .

Good idea. Just watch out for those low overhangs! ::)

Looks Good !

This sling will be used ONLY when riding the bicycle through the sugar cane fields on the way to the woods. (Once, when trying it on in the house, I hit the ceiling fan. >:( ) Yeah, it’s tall!

Thanks. It is something I saw a while back on TV and decided to give it a try.
I did make one big mistake: My Judy asked me where had I learned to sew. :o ;D ;D

Looks like you'll being sewing your own buttons back on from here on out. ;)

Actually, Dave, my mother was an accomplished seamstress [sewed dresses, blouses, etc. for the girls; and shirts and jackets for my brother and me.] I learned from her and have been replacing buttons and mending holes for most of my life. But that is a female dominated industry - I have never had a thimble to fit my fingers. (A thimble is the metal or plastic cup/cap one fits on the end of the finger used to push a needle through the fabric. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thimble )
So, that is today’s lesson. Now, back to the subject of the thread. I will probably shop for something to make a better attachment to the swivels on the Benjamin sling. This double sling is still a work in progress. :-\
Thanks for your reply.

Mike, I too learned at a young age (8-9yrs) to sew on buttons, mend tears, use a sewing machine & do laundry. My mother also told me if I was going to eat 6-7 times a day, I might as well learn to cook as well. Talk about preparing a kid for life. Today's youth need to be taught those same life lessons. ::)

Here is an update on the sling modification: The shooting sticks were fastened to the rifle using one of those pants/ankle velcro straps so they became one unit. I wiggled into the rig and mounted the bicycle for my ride to the woods. One little problem - my head would hit the air tube of the rifle because of my position on the bicycle. This is not a problem with walking. But the problem was eliminated by simply tilting the rifle a little to one side.
I like it. I mean I really like it.
