So I had a friend turn me an adapter to fit a Sumo LDC to my Prod. My Prod has already been graced with a very useful Rocker1 ldc and it's served its purpose well. But after having bought a Sumo for my Taipan Veteran and loving it very much I decided it would be in my best interest to put a Sumo on the Prod as well. I went ahead and bought another from Donny but I didn't get a chance to test it until I had an adapter. There are adapters on Ebay but I didn't want to wait for shipping, though the ones on Ebay are either anodized black if made of aluminum or blued if made from steel. I sure hope Donny has some adapters made so it can be a one-stop shopping trip when purchasing an LDC from him.
No promises but if I have time this weekend I'll try to post up a video comparison of my stock Prod and my effective Rocker1 against the Sumo. It's not going to be comparing apples to oranges as the Sumo costed about twice as much but it may help others decide which to choose from if they find themselves in the market for an LDC.
Video aside, I did do a quick test when I got home from work today and my quick A/B comparison yielded quite a noticeable difference. Both in volume and in sound signature. I won't say too much until I've had time to process my findings so I don't have to backtrack at a later time. But the bottom line is that yes, the Sumo did best my other LDC and obviously beat out the stock Prod in sound suppression.
What I do have for you today is some more LDC porn and I hope I can get to a video soon. If not, sue me.

Good looking setup you have there
-
Looks great. Might have to try one of these sumos myself...
-
I like my TKO, very quiet.
-
From the pictures I see your fill cap is not reshaped. And it seems to me the ldc would block the fill cap from removal. I had to cut a channel in the cap with my rocker ldc and am surprised you don't do the same.
Also could you tell what hand guard you use and how to attach it to the foregrip? I like the look more than the popular magpul one.
Thanks

When I did mine I just used a drum sander for my dremel and it works perfect. TKO offered to modify it for me but I thought why the heck
send it in when I can easily do it myself!

Very good looking PRod.
I liked mine and probably should have kept it.
My 1720T does all I need though:(http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q733/barnydaddy/a41991f329cc269721ba0fa8c9c1c999_zpsjg14fhid.jpg)

At 12fpe.... ;)

Thanks, guys. I love this thing the way I have it set up.
Yes, with the Sumo I'll have to unscrew it to fill it, no biggie as it takes a few extra seconds. My original Rocker1 does benefit there in that it needn't be removed to fill. But to me in the end I want sound attenuation over all else. So unless I get another AG then the Sumo will remain on the Prod. That, or buy a third...oh what happened to the 'ole "I will never spend more than $300 on a bb-gun"?
My handgaurd rail is a cheap Classic Army aluminum deal that I think was originally created for airsoft mp5's. I originally had it on my GSG5 22lr. Nevermind, scratch that as I have the Classic Army brand on my GSG5 now and this was the original one I had on it. ...Oh, I found it. This is it. http://www.zairsoft.com/zairsoft-gsg-5-metal-ris/ (http://www.zairsoft.com/zairsoft-gsg-5-metal-ris/)
I mounted it straight onto the existing Prod handguard but had to make custom mounts to mount it, both inside the rail and the front piece I shaped out of a piece of UHMW I had laying around. Lots of beltsander shaping to fit that part.
I'd DEFINITELY like to buy the "receiver" that's sold on the net so that I can mount my extra Magpul hand grip but don't want to spend that much on it right now as the stock grip works fine. It would really complete the package, though.

Nice pool side photos of the Prod with LDC.

Lol, the sumo's are showing up everywhere. I've got one hanging off the end of my s510. ;D

Good God, I sure would like to know how to imbed Youtubes.

Cannot help with embedded you-tube videos but great job on the video!
Nice test set up using a video camera and sound meter plus a side by side comparison of the stock shroud, Rocker1 LDC and the Sumo. Sumo won the test of course and Rocker1 was right on it tail!
Now for the questions, which pellets were used, grains and fps?
-
No pellet, which to me is louder than with pellet. Wife would beat my @@@ if I were to shoot out her toaster oven! But I know what you mean. Just stock Prod with 15.whatever grain (ETA 14.3 grain) Crosman hp, yes, accurate almost as much as Predators out of my Prod. I think I was shooting weak, like around 620-650fps last I chronyed it which was awhile ago so only like 16fpe. My Caldwell Chrony may or may not be off, I'd need another to judge it by.
Also, as I mentioned, one cannot judge by the meter readings alone. One must use one's ears for discernment. To my ears the Rocker1 was not on the Sumo's tail. Not to my ears, but if a person didn't want to spend the taller price of the Sumo, I can whole-heartedly recommend the Rocker1. But if you need the ultimate, you know what to do.
-
Thx for the info. I don't recommend to shoot your wife's toaster oven, at least not in the house anyways ..

Nice looking prod OP.
1.5"-2" OD LDCs work great on the prod!

Hard to tell you've got a Prod beneath all the tacticool, but I've always loved your Prod and it's given mine some inspiration. I wanted to put one of my Streamlight TLR-s lights on it but decided I've already made it heavier than I originally wanted. But then again, when you want your light, you want your light for that pest that goes bump in the night.
-
How about I send you one of equal size for a fair comparison. 1/2x20 1' 1/8th x6 nothing special same I sell . David

Loving that tactical Prod!

Like I said, your less expensive LDC has been a great investment. I'm sure your others are as well. I had no idea you had multiple offerings. I knew Donny FL's multiple choices due to his nicely set up website. And like I said, the test was not apples to apples and I intend to keep your LDC in case I get my sons Prods as well.

THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you. It was mentioned before but I was using the value given in the "share" or "embed" links vs the actual URL. It works. Thanks again. I was thinking the URL was the same exact thing youtube gives in the box below the vid. I knew there had to be a way. This will help in the future. Gracias.

No Problem. Thank you for sharing

I went with the "Shogun" And never regretted it! I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd one. I started with the Marmoth LDC and then decided to get the DonnyFL because of the video on youtube. Rather than the "Sumo" I decided on the "Shogun" because of it's larger volume. This this is silent. My sons Red Rider BB gun is louder than my Prod.
The quality is top notch! Donny does great work! Highly recommend his LDC's.
I'm planning to pick up an FX Impact and you can bet that his LDC will be going on the FX!
