Title: HW55S with 13 mm dovetail

Wow what a nice gun. It came with the standard iron open rear site. I was able to locate a diopter from Bulgaria and is it seems to be a nice example.

The diopter appears to have a dove tail that is compatible with the 13 mm dovetail on the gun. But it doesn't want to slide on. It seems like it is a little too small. It is not a 11 mm mount as it is much to large for my other guns.

Any advice on how to install the diopter would be appreciated.

Cushioned the sight and a hammer with blue tape, nudged it on and it worked out great.

Excellent--glad it worked out! Thanks for the nice photos too.

The sight body on those is made of a pretty soft alloy; it's easy for the base to get a little bent or the dovetail rail otherwise slightly distorted.

As luck would have it, a good friend helped me with exactly the same problem yesterday, and we ended up with exactly the same solution! I had a 13mm HW sight that would start on the rail but not go all the way forward. His carefully tapping it on worked out the glitch in the rail, though.
