i have just recently resealed my ben 312 that i have had since new[1965]. it could really benefit with me shooting thru a peep site. i really don't want to go the scope route , i guess for the same reason i only have a peep on my muzzleloader. is there a currently made peep that is the way to go? anyone got pics of how they mounted the peep?
thanks, bob noffs

He is out of town, I hit him up on the 15th.

Those are great sights. I have them on both of my 342s.
-
Yep... sure would be nice... if they weren't out of stock..

Sorry been a minute. Here are the 2 peeps. They both work great small, but noticeable visual difference. Also, the actual view through both are different. The peeps are small which I like a lot. Much better than a mount rings and a scope. The thing I don't like about the 273 is that it looks to be on wrong. The post the aperture piece sits/slides on goes to the left. I feel it should be over the breech that's what looks weird to me. The vintage is just a threaded screw with a peep at end. Now for the difference when you look through the peep. The vintage peep you can see through the very light ring because it's so small. Whereas the 273 is a solid black ring you see.
Vintage left / 273 right

They both adjust elevation the same. The windage for the vintage you just loosen the nut and thread the screw in either direction. The 273 you loosen the screw on top and slide the aperture left or right.

The vintage sight is pretty cool. I've seen pics of them, but not so close up.
I have a couple of the 273 sights. I thought they were pretty weird at first too, but I got used to it.

Dude, you really need to be more careful with those cheap under levers. Lemme go get you a tourniquet.

Haha. I could have used it this weekend for sure. That trip to the right coast was for sad news. Sooo, dues had to paid.
The reverse side of the peeps:

Looks like 3 well used vintage guns right there.
-
Either way... tell me what you want for the smaller one. My 312 has the barrel sight and I think that one would be better for me.

That they are Bill, that they are. Scoot (Hoosier) had call dibs on it before I left. So let me see if he's still interested. Just PM'd him.
-
Replied, I will take the other.
-
So Scoot, you saying you want the larger one?
-
Yes, I do not have a preference.
The larger of the two will do me fine if you want the original style.
-
Yep, I'd rather have the smaller one. But, you were here first.
Rob, shoot me a price in PM
Thanks
