Title: Airgun Depot service
Post by: RAJOD on March 26, 2017, 10:40:33 PM
Anyone having issues with Air Gun depot calling them back on sales calls?   I have two buddies wanting to order and called them on availability and over a week no call backs.   I called them too on an issue, no call backs.

I can see one person but three?    Its getting where you can't talk to a human anymore, its all internet auto order.

I never called them, but did recently return a refurbished rifle that had some issues. Emailed me a prepaid label within 24 hours, one week to inspect the gun like they said, then a few days for the full refund into my account. Maybe they are understaffed in the phone dept., but my email experience was good. So I guess your observation is correct, most people don't want to talk on the phone anymore.

IME, no return calls from AGD even if requested (3 different orders).  I found email works the best with AGD.

Good to know, well one of the guys was calling to order a new PCP but they got kind of perturbed off when no return calls.   They should just state "Don't call us because we will not call back, EMAIL ONLY"  they will lose sales.    Sounds like a good company that maybe needs to change a few things.

About the only people that I talk on the phone with in regards to airguns is Crosman, they're excellent on the phone.  I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from PA but never a need to talk on the phone, I've never ordered from Airgun Depot however I've heard they're one in the same as Pyramid Air.

They are one In the same. PA is in my backyard, so to speak, so I've learned to get on the phone precisely at 9:00am ET when they turn on the phones. Same with calling AGD at their local, calling hours. That almost guarantees speaking with a human being.

ADVISE FOR THE SHORT TEMPERED! It will do you no good to display any anger towards the customer service reps for lack of service via the phones or email. They do the very best they possibly can, and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They will make recommendations you may not have thought of, and it's with YOUR best interest in mind. THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF! These two companies are always striving to deliver service that you will not find in other places that do not specialize in air gun sales and service. They are very picky about who they put on the phones, to insure you get the best service possible, and due to the extreme volume of calls the receive daily, it may take time to get back to you.

This is my experience from buying many guns, parts and ammo from them. They are among the best at what they do. If you somehow think that you're somehow better than everyone else that calls in, you'll find that everyone is treated equally regardless if they're buying one tin of pellets or a hugely expensive gun. Be nice to them and it will be returned to you.

JMHO, YMMV.

Just for the record, I get nothing for defending these companies, aside from the ability to order from PA today, and pickup my order at their facility tomorrow, This saves my the anxiety of waiting for the FedEx delivery dude to show up with my orders. 😆😆

Hey RAJOD, if you have order numbers for the orders in question forward then to me in a PM and I can get them over to our CS team. As for phone orders and call backs our CS team is swamped on a daily bases with calls, we are working on improving our phone system and training increased reps but at the moment the best times to get through are early, around 9 am EST, our reps are available till 5 PM EST, however they do see increased call volume later in the day so getting through can be a challenge later in the day. We appreciate the feedback and we are working on getting solutions in place to reduce call wait times and eliminate the need for leaving messages.

Joe don't over react no one said anything about ill tempers just poor phone service.   Its a note to companies that wonder why they may lose business.    My buddy is probably not going to order from them.   He is not mad just wished they had noted the issue with poor phone service.   He yelled at no one as he has spoken to no one.

Might want to defend the buyer not the company.

You probably defend comcast too :)

Its not me, I have no personal issues with AGD, just passing along what a few buddies had noted.    I told them I would post for them.    They are new to PCP, not on the forums etc.   Newbies to air guns.   They are gunpowder real hunters and think they were stupid till they shot my Daystate and Brocock, they even liked clip eating Walther Lever.   So now they want to test the air gun waters.

I did my Walther return via email not phone, no issues.

Now my friends are the type that would rather call.   I am just the middle man passing along information to companies so they can improve if they wish.  I told them to use email next time, they said "Why do they have a phone then"

They asked me why they did not call back I said I have no idea, maybe its a pattern I'll ask on the forum.

So I personally do not have any issues but two potential buyers do.   One had a pre order question on the Gauntlet he wants.   I think its due in may but he wanted to know if that meant june july as it seems to be a fast seller.

I don't think he has ordered it from anyone yet.

Here's the way I look at it, if you talk on the phone... nothing is recorded(necessary nowadays). Emails keep people to their word

Yes, Gauntlets are scheduled for May, but we are actually hoping to have them sooner. Pre orders have been strong on them but as far as we know they are still on schedual

I think he is on the pre order list.   But was worried you might run out of stock forcing backorders.    First come first serve when they come in.    I'll let him know you will have enough for him to get one in May.  Thanks!

People still use phones? JK...

I'd always use chat if available then next email.  I know that AGD Internet orders ship out fast, accurate, and safely to me.  They are a great company to buy stuff.

I know that some companies still only use the phone,  ISS International Shooters.  Neal Stepp the owner answers his own phone and is a wealth of information.   He set me right in getting my FWB match rifle.

Also, Pete the owner at AR15sales.com answers the phone to take orders himself for my powder gun parts.

I had an issue with them when I bought an air rifle and they would not put it on my account for the reward points after e-mailing them several times over the issue and showing them where I had charged the merchandise to my credit card they still would not honor their rewards program. I just started going strictly to Pyramid air. Since then pyramid has gotten a few thousand from me and will continue to get my business.

Its like my grandma always use to say when we had our small family business.  The customer is always right.  You wanna know why, cause they have the money.  I am one of those weirdo's that always wants to talk on the phone to a real person, and if they want my money they will pick up the phone.  There is no need to defend the companies, if they want the business they will figure out how to pick up the phone.  Now that said I have emailed and called the air gun depot and they have talked with me and returned an email.  I had no problems with them at all.  I would tell them to call in the mornings, I always try to call companies in the mornings, to me that's when employees are fresh and ready to start the day.  Afternoon people are tired from a long day and ready to go home.

Oh I got it all smoothed over with my buddies and AGD, water under the Bridge.   One just placed an order.

I blame the phone salesman.   At our office I have to go out of my way to ensure we always have a human answer the phone.   The phone salesman will show all these new gadgets and talk about how we don't need to use the phone anymore etc etc.

I just look him in the face and say.   Who would you rather talk to?  A computer simulated voice or a Human.    They look at me with that blank stare lol.

They try to make it like "its the in thing to do, yea be impersonal"    Im old school and I'll close the day I have to do that.

I recently ordered some H&N FTT .22 cal pellets from Airgun Depot.

I had originally ordered them online from PA on a Friday. Well, when I checked for a tracking number on Tuesday and it said the order was still "processing" I gave them a call. (It took several tries to get through) I was told they were backordered. I mentioned they were in stock when I ordered and the rep said "I must have ordered just when they went out of stock".

So I order from AD. I got through (after a few tries) and was told they were also out of stock. Then the rep said: "let me check our other warehouse" and sure enough he found some. I ordered and got them in a couple of days.

I still use PA, but AD is also good in my book. They both need some phone personnel, as I like to be assured what I order is in stock, not just left "processing" along with the rest of the order, until it finally rolls in.
