I am still kicking myself for trading away one of the sweetest little Chinese springers in the world. :'( And now they are as scarce as Dodo bird beaks. Anyone know if and when they will make a comeback? I want one badly! :-[
-
That's why I jumped on the B5 when I had the chance. It seems like all the Chinese sidelevers are going extinct, with the ones remaining being sold at outrageous prices on auction sites.
Perhaps if we got enough people wanting to order one, a dealer could score us some of these: http://www.airrifle-china.com/products_detail/productId=82.html (http://www.airrifle-china.com/products_detail/productId=82.html). I'd certainly put my name in the hat!
-
Brutuz emailed me link to buy Qb58 in Europe. Not a bad price either, but after shipping?
Mike Mellick was helpful. He can't get any QB58's though.

My baby...I jumped on it when this one became available from the bow and arrow store. ;D

I am definitely holding onto my .22 B5! I may get one in 177 just on that principle.

My supplier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOUFfpAMKAQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOUFfpAMKAQ) link is in description
From Brutuz
The Chinese website you linked to is pretty wonky, not user friendly.
If you do order one, please let us know cost, shipping, ease of transaction, etc.

I have one in .177 cal. I put the bearing in the trigger and it is nice. I liked it enough that I bought a Diana 54 to go with it. Now I'm spoiled by the 54.
-
Well, ask and ye shall receive! ;D I have an offer to buy one from a fellow GTA member in .22. Looks like the wind is blowing in my direction lol ::)
-
I picked up what I thought was a new one at a local gun shop, got home and found the bear trap spring was missing. Found one which works, then tried her out. Twangy, of course, but I'm having trouble with something binding when I pull the trigger. I can actually see a part of the righthand side move when squeezing. Needless to say, it makes target practice less enjoyable. I see there is a reference to a trigger bearing. What is that and what mods can I do to get a decent trigger pull, aside from removing the offending part? I understand a Tuna trigger drops in, as well?
-
the Chinese site never responded to my email request for a quote on 10 of them. I tried twice over a 2 year period with no response
edit to add: I emailed them again asking if the rifle were avail and what the min order would be.
-
I had been looking for one over here for some time and eventually struck lucky in January. They aren't that common over here neither by the way. I got hold of a mint QB88. Nice little thing but a bit twangy. So the other day I had it in bits. The spring was bent, which is probably due to the short guide. So found another in the spares box. Fitted a top hat from BAM19, and made a steel piston sleeve for it. Tried the bearing mod in the trigger but this made it worse. So left it as was except a polish to the contact points.
It all added up to a very big improvement.
Strange thing with a few of these, mine included, is it's .22 but it stamped .177.

Read it a while back a modified QB58 kicked some high end spingers.

yeah, but read a bit more about it... that qb58 is got more work and tuning than a hw that went to highschool at Watts HS, college at Slade U and got its PHD from Kraner academy of serious tuning... it is an incredibly well sorted rifle. that was not a qb58 fresh from the container ship...lol
-

Was there ever a build thread?
-

If you look at the first sticky on Chinese Forum, you'll find Scott's conversions/upgrades to include gas pistons on Chinese AG

I hold in my very happy hands a gorgeous little Chinese springer that I had long regretted letting go, and like the Spaghetti western, For a Few Dollars More, I set the 58 down and pick up a QB57 that is nearly as nice. It was a 2fer that I could not pass up. ::) I cannot wait to get out and do some seriously fun shooting lol. The snow is fast melting, but can't melt fast enough! 8) I'll share some pics later of my Chinese horde, including my B3-2 and B5-1. I seriously need to learn to speak Chinese! ;D

I have a MM Full tuned QB58 with a GRT trigger in .22 cal and picking up a .177 next week from a friend. I may consider selling the one of them after I shoot the .177 and see how it does.

Where did you get the trigger and how hard is it to replace? I have little gunsmithing experience or skills, at least yet.

Is that an LDC on yours? Where did you get it, or did you make it?

It's not LDC, just muzzle brake...I chopped the barrel 3" and slipped it on. A member here offered a bunch of it here way back for $15. Link refers the muzzle brake > http://www.straightshooters.com/ss-muzzlebrake.html (http://www.straightshooters.com/ss-muzzlebrake.html)

Thanks. I was thinking of getting one of those for my Diana 34 Classic, but $50 after shipping seemed a bit steep. :-\

I purchased the gun as is. I believe MM installed the trigger during the full tune. Here is the Pull weight measured on it.

I checked with he who cannot be named and was told no more QB58's can be gotten. In my email I mentioned that 10 of us wanted one if he could get them.
-
I may be willing to sell the one I just picked up for the right price. ☺

Good evening at all, in Italy are the 16.33.
I noticed that your QB58, NORCONIA QB88 are much more finished.
From us there is the power limit at 7,5j - 170 Mt / s and the cost is from 120 € to 170 €, it depends on the seller, then the problem is the shipping I believe would be greater than the cost.
However it is a precision rifle with a red dot or riflescope, it does not make a mistake.
Greetings
Saluti
