Excellent video with a company spring compressor, I assume.
-
Very instructive video. I have a 54 and assume the method would be the same. Really nice spring compressor. I haven't delved into taking them apart this gives me confidence I could do it readily if needed.
BY THE WAY, THE VERY LAST SCENE OF THE VIDEO AFTER INSTALLING STOCK, HE COCKED IT AND APPEARED TO DRY FIRE IT!!!!!
I assume they didn't show him put the pellet in it but if not ?????????????
What do you think? Did I miss something?
-
I have read (I don't remember where) when you replace the piston seal you dry fire it to completely seal the seal to the chamber...Maybe not..
-
It did not appear that any lube/moly/grease was used?
8 minute rebuild, impressive.
-
No lube. No inspection. No burr cleanup. Looked like factory warranty maintenance, not tune work. Helps explain why a tune helps so much.

Great Video Eric !!!

Regarding critiques of the video.
My comment about the video is restricted to the apparent dry fire. I made the assumption that this was a demonstration of how maintenance steps should be done not an actual rebuild or build out of a rifle. To that end, keeping things clean and neat would be more a priority than adding the grease and other goodies to the video. Having never torn down an air rifle, I was happy to see the sequence of events.
I was just really surprised to see the apparent dry fire in ANY case as it could have been damaging to even a demonstration rifle.
I'll let the real experts say whether it was useful and, if I ever have to do such a job myself, I will certainly view it along with other rebuild videos to get tips!!
Cheers

thank you for the link. I have torn mine down twice already, however nice to have this to see where I may have done it the hard way. ;D
