I'm starting an unofficial 100yd match for anyone interested in participating.
This match will run for 4 weeks starting Monday February 27 2017 with the end time and date 12AM(midnight)EST Sunday April 23 2017. Have a picture or a scan of your target submitted by the end date.
Results... will be posted ongoing as the match progresses at the bottom of this post. I will break down the scores by the different calibers shot as well as the top 3 best scores.
This will be a casual match so you can shoot off a bench or any other position you like.
Rules:
1. Any caliber and any type of Airgun(Rifle, Pistol, PCP, Springer, SSP, Pumper etc).
2. Pellets or bullets can be used.
3. You can use a rest, bags, sticks or whatever. NO GUN VICES. The rifle butt must be touching the
shoulder.
4. Same target for all calibers and 5 shots per target. You have a choice from three attached below. If
using the white target it is allowable to color in part of the target with a transparent highlighter to
better see it down range as long as the black lines are still ledgeable.
5. All the info at the bottom of the target must be filled out (group size optional this target is for
scoring only)
6. You can submit 1 target per caliber(ie. .22, .25, .30, etc.) so you have an option to shoot more often.
Scoring..... The center bull is a X and all the others rings are the marked value. The shot must be totally inside the ring to score that ring. If the shot touches the ring using a scoring gauge or your best geusstimation it goes to the lower value(opposite of what is the norm). Highest possible score would be 50/50 5X.

We have had some record warm temperatures in the 70's here in Central NY this past week, But as of today it is snowing again. :(
I am looking forward to participating in this tournament, but March can be a nasty cold and snowy month here.
So depending on the weather I will see if I can get an entry for this month.
Hopefully this tournament will continue thru the summer months!

Marty, you should probably add that it's OK to colour in part of the white target with a transparent highlighter to make it more visible downrange through your scope.... I know some guys have used light blue, red, orange or yellow in the past.... No reason not to, IMO.... as long as you can still see the black lines to score it....

Yeah I had 72 here at my place. Snow is all melted and I managed to get out and shoot a few Pigeons, and shoot my 100yd metal target hanging in the tree. Gun is still shooting good after setting for a couple months. But now we are back to cold and snow, just a dusting today, but it will be March soon and we can get lots of snow in March.

This match is a primer for future matches. Once we see how this match goes we can see what kind of changes are needed to keep it competitive for everyone. If there is enough interest I'll keep this match going.

One size fits all and all are welcome for this match. Everyone shoots the same target. I just didn't add all calibers to the original post. Figured I'd add them as they came in.

Thinking about this, won't it be unfair for the smaller calibres shooting against the larger calibre's since the larger calibre's have a larger hole and have a better chance of a higher score?
I guess if all the calibres are separated like they are listed , it does not matter.

Interesting way to score. I've competed in lots of PB competition and never seen targets scored that way.
Are you sure you are meaning what your saying?
In most all comps touching the ring gets the higher score.

robert... what he said^. I want to see if this levels the playing field a little, besides this is pretty much only a test match. After its over we'll see what everyone thinks and probably run a poll and then we'll go from there. It should be an interesting match.

When I got home and measured mine it was 1.04" CTC. What was yours :P ;D 8) I still have the target to prove it.

According to what I submitted, mine was 1.1095", give or take a few ten thousandths.
We most definitely need to talk him into having another Fun Shoot up there in about a month. ;D

I have been looking back at some of my old targets, In the past I have shot a few 49's and even one 50 with X's
So I am hoping to get some weather to shoot soon, not today though temperatures here are in the low teens with 15mph winds.

Ground was bare yesterday, today we got a little snow!!!
This picture was taken at 3:30pm out the garage door, it is now 9:15pm and still snowing!!!
At one point we got 11 inches in one hour!!!

Due to the weather this time of year I'm extending the due date 4 weeks to Midnight April 23 2017. I'll get a regular match started after this match is completed, evaluated and any changes made if needed. Thanks for the interest shown up to this point.

I would say no. I have a lead sled and there is padded metal between the rifle butt and your shoulder.
When you submit another target you must use one of the new targets that are attached to the bottom of the first post which are the same as the new targets for NUAH Club membership.

The rest you used is fine.
Now the bad news.... that was an older target you used and that would affect scoring. For the match you still need to submit another target on one of the new targets that can be found attached to my first post.

Here we go April first wouldn't know... Uh, after I took the picture I noticed I missed filling in the group. It's 45 from my best guess. Nice day wind was 6-8 variable and it was late evening. I had hoped to do better on group size but this was the best of all targets.

Great job Dave, I get real excited when I see posts with shot targets in them!
Tough to say but I'll take a stab at armchair scoring. Coming from the center out it looks like I see a 10, maybe another 10 unless it touches the line then it's a 9, next I see a solid 9, then a solid 8, and again another 8 unless it touches the line then a 7. Scoring "out", I think, does make it more challenging.
I count anywhere from 43 to 46 depending on where those two shots landed.
If you don't have a .25 gauge you could use a pellet skirt centered as best you can to see if any of the lines are being touched.
Again, great job! Makes me itch to get back up to the range.

If you have the target in hand it's two 10's a 9 and what I believe to be two 8's. However, one is debatable so even if you make it a 7 it's fine. It's all just fun anyway....I'm just so happy I have a Marauder that shoots that good. If I was better it would be better.....:)

I finally got a chance to shoot the 100 today, almost didn't think I was going to make it. I met up with Lloyd at the gun club this AM and shot some targets. It was dead calm when I got there and by the time I set up the wind was gusting to 9mph according to the weather service in the area. I shot a .30 and a .25. I had a .22 with me also but forgot to bring the fill probe... DUH.

Thanks guys. The .30 has shot well since day one. The .25 doesn't do well with pellets but loves Nicks swagged bullets(kinda like my wife.... only likes the expensive stuff ;) ;D ).

Dont bother scoring it . . . I should of spent another magazine to get dialed in for the wind. I over compensated. Didnt take another target with me.

In pic Range2 you can kinda see my wind flags at the 30, 50 and 100yrd lines.

I got these the other week to go along with the other metallic silhouette targets.
We call him "Jr!"
In pic Jr4, those things that look like nail heads , those are the pellets after impact.

Running low on pellets and ink, but trying to get a target in today.
Was dead calm but as soon as I got out there and got set up the winds picked up.
Shot a 46 so far but I know I can do better, just printed a couple more targets, hope the wind has calmed down when I get back out there.

Well when I got back out there the winds were still kind of tricky, calm one minute, blowing the next.
Shot about 8 targets and the best I could do was a 46 with the wind. Had some great 3 and 4 shot groups, but always one or two flyers to ruin the target.
Then I ran out of 34gr JSB's and had to switch to the 25.39gr JSB's had to turn the speed down and sight in with the lighter pellets, but by then then sun was starting to go down and the wind died.
And then after a couple more try's I shot a target I was pretty happy with, still didn't break the one inch barrier that I have been after for a long time, so still at the Expert rank.

I'll be traveling tomorrow and will get the final results up at the end of the day or Tuesday AM. I'll also post to see if there should be any changes made to the match rules or leave as is for the next one.

10-15mph winds ruined my shot at getting in. Well that and I've been toying with my texan to get 5 shots on paper. It's getting better but still not where I want it. My Mrod can do it but not in these winds we been having. Next time I'm in so let's get #2 started eh?

I went back out today to give it another go, but the wind was not being nice to me. I would get a few good 3shot groups, and then 4 and 5 would be way out 7 or 6 at the 9.
Oh well. It was still good to get out there and shoot!
I did knock over the ram and Jr though!

Great shooting everyone. This was a fun match.
Here are the final results and I also added them to the first post. The scores were very close for the top positions and we had a tie for the Bronze.

Hey Marty,
I like totally missed out on this round. Life has kept me pretty busy for some time now. I put a new scope and mounts on my RAW a couple of months ago and still have not had a chance to zero it in. I really need to take a day and play some. Maybe I can get a day with you and Lloyd soon.

Bring it and some targets to the Fun Shoot in KY. I'll bring a target stand or 2. That will get you into the next one.
