I can buy only one of the 2 air rifles FX impact or Daystate Pulsar, both in .22. What i like about the Pulsar it is extremely consistent with its shot string and i get about 80 shot with it.
Come one FX boys try to convince me otherwise

Daystate all the way.

+1 on the Daystate

+2 on the Daystate.

If i may ask why are you all so much for daystate?

If i may ask why are you all so much for daystate?
Quality of build and lack of problems.

Well bud that is the truth and one major reason why its first on my list
-
FX = air leaks & misc problems Daystate = trouble free shooting

I have 2 Daystates and want a 3rd. :)

Seems like we have a winner hands down

It wasnt much of a contest LOL. You might want to look at the mutant also if your looking for a pup its a fine shooter.

Haha yeah thanks man and "dang" not really a good looking gun.

The Pulsar is one ugly looking rifle, at least to my eyes, to each his own I guess.

But they shoot so good otherwise! I'd love to save up and one day get a Mutant. But... Komaan, Marno, kry die Daystate! Jy weet jy wil dit! Die FX, nie te oordeel, maar... Ja?

Dooo ittttttt!
Though I KNOW you would love the Mutant. Think how much fun a lightweight compact and super-efficient bullpup will be when you go walk-and-stalk!

Out of curiosity... Which Daystate rifle would the experts here recommend for great accuracy and moderate power in a .25?
Just curious... as possibly... one of these days. I like the more conventional style, than the bullpups.

I own the Daystate Huntsman Regal XL .25 and it is ~41 FPE with 25 gr pellets would I recommend it most definitely good looking and very accurate
-
FX leaked out of the box. Fixed it three times in a year, gave up on fixing it. Got a Daystate, no problems after four years and is more accurate than the FX.
-
If I were looking for options, the Flex and Warp from Travis would be mighty tempting! ;)

I cant get a .25 in South Africa as we are only allowed to shoot 5.5mm air rifles, if we go bigger we need a licence for it. Most are probably wondering why the pulsar well wait a couple of weeks and i will show you why. Is it ugly? Well not for me at least, when it was first announced a couple of years back i wanted one i just didn't have the money, now im able to get one so wait and see ;D

Ted from teds holdover won the extreme bench rest with the fx....for what its worth .

That doesn't say much if you take a look how many people are complaining about FX in general.

for what it's worth, I was shooting with Nick Neilsen this past weekend. He had brought his new DS Wolverine HP in .22.
He has been developing some slugs for this gun, and I must say he has some awesome ammo for it.
We were shooting his 34gr (I think that's correct) that was SOooo consistent, I simply could not believe it.
He had the gun zero'd at 100 yds, and asked me to sit down at try it. Naturally I obliged,... (Ya THINK ?, .... DUH !)
We were shooting from a very solid bench and using sandbags. With very minimal effort on my part, it was stacking the bullets one on top of another.... or at the very worst, it was delivering clover leaf groups. I have no doubt that the clover leafs were "All MY Fault" hahaha.
Then Nick tells me he set up a fresh target at 150 yds and wants me to take a shot. He told me the holdover to use and I got myself into position. At first I was so pumped, I could not get myself to calm down.
I took a few deep slow breaths, but I could still see my heart beating in the scope. I had to get up from the table and try to "shake it off", get myself to relax, and sit back down.
I reacquired the target, took another deep breath and let it out slowly as I let the bullet fly.
First shot, at a 150 yds, with a .22, and it hit PERFECTLY DEAD CENTER.
I was shocked that it flew that well at that distance. Absolutely AMAZING !
Yeah,... if I was going to by another .22,... it would HAVE TO BE a Daystate !
and I'd be feeding it Nicks new bullets, and nothing else !
just my .02 cents ;) ;D

Daystates shoot great and are reliable. FX shoot good, only shoot pellets. Daystates shoot pellets and slugs and are very accurate. That .22 HP that Ron was talking about above is a super accurate gun. The Wolverine platform is outstanding, I own 3 of them (.177, .22 and .30).
-
I have to agree at this point I would probably go daystate.
Nick do you know what the barrels are on daystate HP in .22?
if they weren't so expensive I would jump on one for long range shooting combined with your slugs 8)
-
The wolverine may be nice, but I love my Air Wolf with on board computer, electronic trigger, and solenoid. :)

Do you also get to program in, where you'd like it to hit, and at what range and velocity too ? ? ?
I'm pretty sure that would be something along the lines of CHEATING ! :o :P ;) ;D ;D ;D
Man,.... some of the guys that hang out here ! HAHAhahahha !
Just messin' with ya there brother ;) 8)

yea I want to get one of those to examine the electronics, there is just so much that could be done with it!
But for now the conventional route is the easiest way to get power.

I size my slugs .217, the twist on LW site 1:17.7 and I measured it at 1:18.25.
I sold my Airwolf which was super accurate but lacked the power to shoot slugs and I mainly shoot slugs. Being a slug manufacture I can shoot slugs cheaper than pellets I just have to take the time to make myself the ammo.
That Wolverine is a little heavy but it is very accurate and quiet. I plan to regulate and see how that goes.

I make a 22.5 grain slug that shoots very nicely out of an Airwolf. Very accurate.
I ordered new dies to allow me to makes slugs faster which should be here within 6 weeks at which time they will be available.

Thanks For everyones input so far I love hearing all your opinions

Daystates are not without their problems but FX has much more issues. Although I hate the looks of Pulsar I would have to say Daystate here as well.

Shoot me a line when you get set up, maybe I will get a raise so I can afford them. LOL
