Purchased this on a whim, glad I did ...Im not much for syn stocks but for me this is a keeper...nice fit and finish..177 caliber....scope is a 3x12x40 BSA with 30 tube...had it laying around ..always wanted a bi pod (PA brand)...barrel is 15mm so that means a LDC most likely from TKO (my favorite)....didnt even try the open..had to remove rear for scope....at 30 feet its on the money...will take it outside tom....

I like that stock! Is that an aftermarket stock or a totally new gun? I have a QB78D I would like to change the stock on.

That's the first "S" I have seen. Also makes an excellent piece of decoration! :D

Came with gun, its my understanding that Mr. @=S+S%^$# will be carrying the stocks and its a direct replacement for the 78D.....I also have a QB78D and a AR2078, u can tell Im a fan...good luck

Phil, thanks for posting. I'm not much of a fan of synthetic stocks either so it's good to hear you like it. I may be tuning one for Stalwart in the near future to test out some new internals.

Anything's an improvement over those insultingly ugly wooden QB stocks. ;D What's she weigh in at dressed in plastic?
-
Jason, AFAIC... it's a done deal... if you want it that way.
The first of our victims just showed up. And, your work speaks for itself (no higher praise, at least around here). Looks like the "program" is expanding, based on our "out of the box" impressions.
Your call! :)
Razor, if no one chimes in before then, we'll get you a hard number tomorrow after teardown ( http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=121933.msg1185176#new (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=121933.msg1185176#new) ). It isn't light, but it has meat where it needs it. A lot of options here, and it measures out to have a nice surprise waiting for those who want them. Love the real butt pad. Could not agree more on the wood stocks! Those days are over...

Yessir! My avatar shows what I came up with as far as improvements upon a standard QB wooden stock are concerned. That arrow gun is built around a QB converted to HPA. That's the original QB stock after my alterations. :-) Cut the grip off and added some drop instead of the swept back design. Cut the forend back in a reverse angle and added some height to the comb for use with a scope. Feels so much more comfortable now.

Nice work!
Yeah, we're on the same page. A 79 stock set up for a mostly rested 78, I had to do something. Haven't chosen a color...
-
Eric, that sounds good. I saw your pictures in the other thread and I'm interested in what you have in mind. You pick the ingredients and I'll bake it up right.

That's a riot Eric! Great minds...Isn't that what they say? I like your design too.

barrel is 15mm
Thanks Phil. Was wondering about this exact thing myself the other day.... Remains to be seen, but I'm probably either going to buy a replacement stock when available if they're reasonably priced, or just buy a donor gun and have lots of parts. Maybe in a .22 so I can play with both.
What does it weigh exactly as you have it outfitted? My QB78D is tipping the scales at 10 lbs 12 oz fully dressed and I'm wanting to put that on a diet. Was hoping the synthetic would shave a pound or 2. It's too heavy for anything but bench shooting (which is what does most of the time).

Only way I could weigh it was with bathroom scale , might as well say 8lbs....I dont plan on using the bi pod full time....and most likely will get a lighter scope...that BSA is over kill....LOL...good luck
Really didnt think I could like a syn stock , but this is a cool little gun.....even like the trigger..
