Title: Learning a Hatsan trigger the hard way
Post by: Mr. Panther on January 30, 2017, 01:06:56 PM
so i was changing out the spring in my .20 VMX yesterday. When I turned the tube on its' side i hear the sound of things falling out. Well.... the pins fell out of the trigger group, (I usually put tape over them to prevent this). I don't have an EVP so I had to figure it out. The only hard part was figuring out the spring in the trigger that pushes it forward. It took me a full hour to figure out where everything went, but the good part was it allowed me to "play" with the trigger and tune it in a bit. Now the trigger is probably a 2 pound trigger or less and is really feeling good. Now with the small preload I put in the new spring, and the trigger it shoots like a totally different rifle. guess you have to take make the best of a bad situation, and with luck on my side I did.

Very easy trigger to take down and reassembly
And some history for the trigger,
first HW disigned the record trigger

Then Ivan Hancock (the founder of Venom) build a tuned version
that was a hand made record,he named his trigger mach1

From mach 1 a "new" trigger was borned, the CD from Air Arms

and with the cooperation of hatsan and webley the quattro trigger

Same thing happened to me......... :-X

You are a better man than me, mine is still apart.
I'm waiting on a spare quattro unit(major PITA), so things do not go from bad to worse....

Did you replace the trigger adjustment screw with a longer one?  Did you shim the trigger to prevent side to side play?  Change springs, which ones?

Thanks,

Yogi

Yogi, the trigger in the Webley VMX is the same one Hatsan puts in all the Edge/Striker/1000 rifles, they're all basically the same rifle (and all of them built by Hatsan) with different stocks and badging and it's just a clone of the old Gamo triggers.

So it is not the quattro trigger? ???
