Tomorrow morning I am going to get started on adding more modifications to my .22 discovery.
Upgrading valve screws via Magnum Airpower LLC - http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/discovery-valve-screw-kit (http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/discovery-valve-screw-kit)
Upgrading to the brass trigger from Baker Airguns - https://www.bakerairguns.com/product/discovery-triggers/ (https://www.bakerairguns.com/product/discovery-triggers/)
Adding a power adjuster from Magnim Airpower LLC - http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/brass-power-adjuster (http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/products/brass-power-adjuster)
Pretty much just reaching out to those of you who have done these mods to your rifle, and asking for any tips or do's, and dont's.
I have little experience with modifying airguns. All I've put on my discovery is an extra barrel band and TKO. I Obviously know to completely empty the air reservoir before I start removing any screws related to the valve/power adjuster upgrade. But any tips related to these upgrades are GREATLY appreciated as I embark on this adventure (for me) tomorrow morning. :o

Dillon,
My Disco has been modified to handle a 3200psi air fill max. The parts you listed from MAP, are also listed on Ebay. The Ebay listings give more detail about each item than on the MAP website for some reason.
Despite my guns max capability, I choose to limit my air fills to a max of 2600psi. This has been doing well for me giving me 40 quality shots per fill. I have the following parts listed that are in my gun to allow for this higher air fill. For safety sake, I would advise you to copy my max limit of 2600. Why push it? The gain isnt worth it.
MAP Brass power adjuster
MAP extended valve
MAP valve screw set
MAP Heavy hammer spring
MAP breech screw set
This mod eliminates the use of your built in air gauge as the extended valve takes up the space where the gauge block is located in the air tube.

Believe it or not, in my head I was thinking "No matter what I probably won't fill it over 2,500" so its funny that you say that. I will follow your max limit of 2,600 PSI.
What are advantages of the breech screw?
Also, when I am tightening the valve screws, how tight did you go personally? This I think is the most important part.
-
If you go to Ebay where these parts are listed, it goes into detail of how tight on the valve screws. Not sure about the breech screws, there are two of them.

The guy that I bought my Disco from tuned it. He shot over his Chrony from a full fill 3000psi and down to about 900psi. He told me there was no need to fill to 3K as the most consistant vels were from 2600 to 1200. Thats with my gun, cant say for sure about yours. For what its worth.
Dillon, speaking of mods, which stock are you thinking of going with?

Hey Chris, I actually couldn't wait and just finished the modifications. I surprisingly ran into no trouble with anything really. Its almost 1 a.m where I am (Boston) so I'm going to wait for the morning to shoot and see how she does. The new trigger feels great.
I put the original stock back on it. I am in the market for a custom Disco stock that will fit everything and looks different.

the m-rod trigger is the best for a disco

I will be upgrading my Disco soon myself, still kind of on the fence about those upgrade screws, it sure is simple that way and I have read up on them, they claim they're perfectly safe for up to 3K fills that way. Anyway one way or another I'll definitely be making my Disco 3K capable too, I'm sure that it will need port work and heavier hammer spring and also the Mrod trigger would really be ideal on this gun.
-
So these screws are a simple "ungas the gun, remove factory screws, replace with new screws, gas her up and shoot"? That is, you don't have to drill and tap the valve, just swap the screws out?
-
I forgot to add to my mod list, that I included a MAP Heavy hammer spring to my Disco. Its hard to imagine the Mrod trigger being better than the Baker trigger. Might be as good but more expensive and harder to install.
I have never heard of anyone doing the 3K mod to the disco and using the stock valve. Or if any testing has been done using the stock valve, only replacing the the 3 valve screws.

Yes according to the website. Just completely degass gun and take the 3 valve screws out and tighten in the new ones.
Here are some pictures of what my disco now looks like now with:
TKO
2nd barrel band
Valve screws
Brass Trigger
Power Adjuster

Now that I have done it all myself I can say be very careful when tightening the valve screws. That is when you are most prone causing a leak. I did the modifications last night and then filled it to a regular 2,000 psi fill and I'm letting it sit to see if I caused a leak in the process.

Glad to hear you like the brass baker trigger, maybe I'll have to try one, I've only used tried the mrod trigger,
does the baker brass trigger give you a two stage or single stage trigger? or is it adjustable to either?
I think they are both pretty easy to install, with the mrod trigger you just remove the disco trigger pack and screw on the mrod trigger group
(If I remember right its a 4 screw operation)
There are a couple 3000psi discos out there but most people don't bother,
In the past it was always done by retapping the valve to 10-32 and using high strength screws,
Llyod at Airgunlab did some pressure testing: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=72672.0 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=72672.0)

I'm sure that without a heavier hammer spring you'd definitely get valve lock going too far up on the pressure. The way my stock Disco is the best power shots start at around 1800psi.
