well as said in another post i had to replace the seal in my titan and after doing so shooting paper was a little boring as that was what i had done everyday all winter to pass the time. so i walked to the beaver pond and with all the rain it was high as well as the river and while the river runs pretty fast the beaver pond moves slowly. the amount of soda bottle's coming through was amazing and discouraging as well, that we pollute our envirerment that much junk was disturbing. i figured i can't retrieve the garbage, i don't own a boat anymore. so i figured it would make good target practice. this beaver pond is about 300yards wide and very long. with plenty of floating targets from 16oz -2ltr bottles. i started with the usual shots at bottles 20 yards out and found even moving they were easy targets. when i was done for the day i was shooting at the 2 ltr bottles which being bigger were a lot farther away. i found that shooting the 177 titan with the grtIII and grs kits installed and using the centerpoint 4x16x40 mil dot scope worked great and was easy and a joy to shot at long range. i had to use my mil dots and the math formulas to figure out the ranges but knowing the bottle size made that easier. i came up with my longest shot so far right around 195 yards i do have to hold high on the last mil-dot but if I'm steady and there is no wind its a hit 8 out of ten times after this shot i can't hit anything farther out i think it just looses all its energy. I'm even pretty sure at 195 the titan is not putting holes in the bottle but it makes a very load pop and the bottle seems to move alot.
what are some of your longest shots and what were you shooting with at the time.
thanks for sharing .......dave
ps. going back to 20 and 30 yard shots
for the most part cuz that my hunting range

Nice shooting! Glad your gun is up and shooting.
Last weekand my father in law was showing me a soup can he was shooting @ 120 yards. Put holes right through it.
He was shooting his Diana 52 .177 Leapers 3-12x44 SF OA scope with H&N 10.5 grain Barracudas.

Thats a pretty good distance for an AG, it nice when you can range your shots when you can see where their hitting, I like those shots! ;D

What a challenge. 195 yards is beyond anything most of us have the opportunity to try. Good job.
I know how you feel about the trash! I grew up during the time when they ran those commercials on tv about the sad American Indian who was looking out over the land filled with trash and the tear runs down his cheek. I knew it was a commercial, manipulative and very trite. Still, it made an impact on me and I hate littering to this day, especially the Friday night drinkers who think my yard is the place for their beer cans. >:( >:(

the garbage was irratating to say the least but i mad good use of it and the only reason htese shots were possible was because there is nothing in the way and you could see were the pellets hit if you missed not to mention i started close so i just had to adjust a little at a time for the longer range which i believe is what mad those shots easy

Ive knocked down the beeman ram steel target and trainer golf balls at 100 yds measure with laser range finder. Thatwas with my 177 350 & 470 . 195 yds is a long way. Great job.

The bottles thing sounds fun. We used to do something similar, but we would tie them to a central one that was painted orange so we didn't sink a bunch of plastic.
