Title: Shooting pumpers can be fun
Post by: jimmymc2900 on January 22, 2017, 07:17:42 PM
One of our members, Bob H, was telling me about a game he and his wife and play shooting their 853's. That each get a can and shoot it for X amount of time and the one that moves it the fartherest wins. I spent the after noon out shooting my Crosman 101 at plastic pop bottles, and cans. That is more fun than slapping snakes with a stick.
I'm going to set up a place at the Southern Indiana Spring Pellet Fling to do this. All you guys with these vintage rifles that can make it please do. I think we would have a ball.

Sounds fun for the Grand-daughter and I.... Need to add that twist to our can shooting time.
Thanks!

I have never found that pumpers can be fun, in my experience I have found that they're always fun 😁
Another game or challenge I've come up with is to see who can hit their can first when starting with an empty gun, obviously just using a few pumps is faster but if the can is far enough away it'll matter how many pumps they use.  while they may get the first shot off by only using 3 pumps , the extra time your 4-10 pumps took may have paid off for you.
This challenges speed of operation, accuracy, and knowing where your gun shoots at any given distance with each number of pumps.
