I picked up a 20 tear com. 760 this week they had price to high so I asked if they could look at internet at prices and maybe sell it to me for less than half what they were asking. They agreed , then I had to buy it thinking I would have another bad shooter. Dirty little gun even had bird poop on it still. This gun is extremely accurate. Best 760 I have ever shot pellet on pellet at 10 yds. I didn't think it was possible. Rusty but has the wood stock forearm and metal receiver. Very happy.

And rifled barrel. waterman

Good find. I like those little shooters.
I had to make my first newer style 760 shoot right :o BUT it's a stubby now with a 1377 barrel. The older ones were better but I kept my newer 760 because of the pellet clip. Does yours have the metal reciever with the plastic bolt? That design type is my favorite.

If it's a regular 760 and not some sort of anniversary version that would have to make an early self cocker with a brass bolt.

It's a 20th ann with plastic bolt met rec. and rifled barrel. I mean this thing shoots really really good Waterman

Oh ok. I actually have the 25th anniversary version, same style. It's really nice, feels good shouldering, and they DO shoot really well. I'll take mine out to shoot on ocasion but mine's more of box queen. I want to get a regular 760 of these same styles to mod and shoot regularly.

Sorry but I have a new one and others that shoot like bb guns. I even put a rifled barrel on one and it did not shoot any better. That one had a plastic receiver. I have four now and only the one is a shooter. waterman

I own two.
The 25th shot well out of the box. So, not much to talk about there.
The newer plastic one was left outside for two months then given to me, but since it was plastic, it didn't rust. That thing shot grapefruit sized groupes at 10 meters but for some reason I could hit small moving targets with it. At that time, nobody made drop in rifled barrels for the 760, you'd have to make your own or find an old one. I couldn't find an old one so, I made my own. The thing is a crisp one hole gun at 10 meters with the old pointed Tech Foce pellets. I don't even think they sell those pellets anymore.
Have you tried different pellets with your rifled 760 that shoots bad? New barrels can even have a bunch of anti rust gunk inside of them too.

Today I dug out that rifled barrel out and started pushing pellets through it. found a problem breech side. I fixed that and put it back in the gun. It's acually shooting better . Ok with hn match at 10 yds. I'll shoot more. Thanks Waterman
