I think I'll stick with my Air Charger
You cant go wrong with the air charger best SO FAR compressor for the money out there.
-
Love mine. I did some of Motorheads mods and so far it has been pretty sweet
-
Shawn I know a guy who I trust as to being truthful and he has a hour meter on his supercharger and he claims he has 5000 hours on it with no rebuild!!!!
-
Yea I'm excited to learn more on this compressor I'll looks it up but I think someone in the know
at airventuri or PA posted and said its not the same as the mrodair one but I'll have to check.
Another one I just read about that I'm gonna do some research on is the Carette 4500 compressor
I haven't gotten to read it yet but there is a long write up on TAG about it looks promising from the first few paragraphs.

Found it it was Tyler:
Just to quell it now,
NOT the same as the Mrod Air compressor. Not the same manufacturer. But these things do always look somewhat similar...so I can understand the confusion.
I can't tell you guys too much just yet, but I have tested this unit personally and am very impressed with it. There will certainly be more to come.
Like I said, can't say too much, but I will answer what I can for those that have questions.

Ok Tyler, I will take you up on that.
Not too many questions, but 2 BIG ONES.
I am going to say it's water cooled is a given.
The two questions:
Is the compressor Oil filled, or oilless?
Are there driers/separators in the line?
That should answer a lot of the questions, without letting too much info out..
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in these topics.
Ian
P.s. I think the answers are going to be
yes on oil filled,
And 1 separator inline..
Yes, they are oil filled. It's a relatively small amount and they are emptied at the factory before shipping. Oil Changes are quick and easy.
And yes, there is one oil filter inline. Also, very easy to replace when necessary.
And yes, water cooled as well.

Assuming there is a separator is there any problem with an oil filled compressor being used?
We need low oil, but we won't be breathing it so it does not have to be 100% free.
I agree with you Steven. We use a NARDI compressor here and even it takes oil....it's hard to escape. And to your point....this new compressor (or most of the compressors you'd purchase for Air gun use) is NOT for breathing air.

Any new info on the Air Venturi unit?

Travis the manual is on their site if it is not the same comp then it was built by the same people and needs 5w40 or comp oil.

I called but everyone is at theshot show so no new info till next week gang. I will ask the right questions believe me.
-
Took a look at the manual, looks just the same as nimrodair &^^&, just a different package and bigger separator.
I wouldn't even consider that one over the reliable options we have at that price range.

Sure looks like the same POS Mrod air compressor http://www.airventuri.com/site/manuals/ (http://www.airventuri.com/site/manuals/) I sure hope they did something about the piston rings.......I sure hope it has some serious internal upgrades and oil stripper.
-
Travis, All high pressure air compressors are oil bath. Bauer, Nardi. Tex, All of them. It's how they handle the oil that is important.
This is not the same compressor that Mrodair had been selling, however, the one pictured on this thread is not the one he has been selling either.
He may very well have picked this one up! Not many people that we would talk to would know if he just picked them up. ;)

I see PA is advertising them now
