I don't really care for this rifle because of the molded on muzzle brake/front sight, bad trigger angle, puny scope mounts, and it kicks like a mule. I couldn't get it to shoot straight either. Finally it sounded like it broke inside and then shot worse. After thinking it over I thought if I got it replaced, I could deal with the things I didn't like about it so I packed it up to ship it back to the dealer. My UPS shipping agent wouldn't take a pellet gun, which shocked me. So I took it to the post office. They didn't care what was in the box. But the least expensive postage was $36 to mail it to back to the dealer. I feel like I should have bought some replacement parts and fixed it myself.

Brian,
Welcome to GTA.
With a little work the 95 can be much improved upon. SpireGroove and other are real knowledgeable about fix'n um up right.
Not much can be done about trigger angle, but everything else can be much improved upon.
Good luck,

Brian,
There isn't much to disagree with your assessment of the Hatsan 95 springer. But it does have it's share of followers. The things you mentioned can be fixed an make this gun a rewarding experience if one wants to take the time to mod them.
I own a one in vortex form and springer version. I have left them mostly stock. I like them because they are a challenge to shoot.
I think they are a real bargain considering you get German steel and Turkish walnut. Good platform to start with.

advise going to Hatsan instead of the dealer. HatsanUSA was easy to work with and my replacement 95 is a tackdriver, plus it came with beautiful furniture.

I take it that it was still under warranty.... Did you contact the dealer on an RMA for the return?
Every once in a while there is a lemon from anyone, my Hatsan 95 lasted about a week in my hands before exchanging it.
UPS here will ship complete air guns. When I asked about it, the counter guy said they even ship firearms (ammo has to be separate).
