Just received my b-day present to myself a little early - an used (new to me) FWB602. My first ever 10M rifle!
I lusted for a nice 10M rifle since I first saw them on the Beeman Catalogs in the 80-90's, and I finally have one, left handed, since I am a lefty. I want to scope mine, so I know I need a "short gate", but otherwise this is ready to go "as is". I have not chronograh it myself yet (it is 24F here in Texas today), but the seller was getting 598fps with RWS 7gr pellets - perfect for backyard mini-sniping ;D

My nicest rifle (which I really like) is my Theoben MKII (setup for FT at about 20ftp) but these 10M rifles are in a different league - it almost makes my Theoben look a little "ameteur" by comparison. Almost as if these 10M rifles are meant to be shot constantly, for years and years and years - it oozes quality and craftsmanship. And even though it was 24F here in Texas, I shot 2-3 shots in my garage (silent pellet trap), and the trigger is unbelievable smooth - what a treat!
I need now to find the short gate so that I can work on scoping it :-)

I have the 603, and you are going to love your 602! They are amazing rifles and not hard to work on either. I did a total re-seal on mine, short gate, and scoped it. Several guys I shoot ten meter with have them with target sights and they are just as accurate that way. I guess if your pest sniping a scope is the way to go.
I'm jealous! I shoot lefty and had to buy a right handed 603, couldn't find a lefty. I'm training myself to shoot righty and I'm quite used to it now, except for off hand work.
Congrats on, perhaps the best SSP line ever made. ??? I probably opened a can of worms on that statement. In all fairness, I won't be happy till I own a lefty Walther lgm2 gray lam. I just shot a lgr this morning that was so easy to shoot and stupid accurate. There's Nothing like a ten meter gun.

William,
Congratulations on your 602! I got a 601 about 6 months ago. I was not able to find an original short gate but I did find "shortened" gates on ebay from seller nikkonos. I bought one and had them shorten it for me because I couldn't do it nicely.

It seems he doesn't have any for sale currently but maybe if you contact him he could let you know if he will be getting more in.
I did cobble a scope mount but I have not shot with it yet. It clears the loading gate by about 3/8 of an inch I'm guessing.

Might sound silly. I bet a rifle with no recoil could easily get away with only using one scope ring. At least to get you going.

Thank you guys ;D
Yes, finding the gate has been hard so far. I contacted Neil at International Shooting Supply via email, but I have not heard back. I found on another forum that best way to reach him is via phone - so I will try next Monday. I also just sent a note to ebay seller nikkonos, so lets see if he can find any. If not, I have a small/home machine shop so I can try finding a standard gate and creating a "shorty" one, assuming I can find a standard/long one to modify. I am not in a hurry, but I know I something can be worked out ;)
