Very nice! A find or an heirloom?
Just bought it last week . it is still " stiff " like a new airgun. I cannot tell that it has been fired.
-
What????!!!!!! That's awesome!!!! Man, nice find.
-
Can I be in your will?
How on earth did you find a like new Super Grade?
-
Really nice! Looks to have been a good design. :)
-
So, the other one is going to become your new truck gun?
Steve, you're going to need to open a Sheridan museum.
-
waiting for the range report
-
I sure hope you are going to shoot it. It would be a waste to let it sit around another 60-some odd years :o
Beautiful gun, and in great shape. I've always wanted one of those. Enjoy it! 8)

I hate you. 👺

Actually , this one is a Model B Sporter, The Model A was the Super Grade. Even though the Model A Super Grade is older, the Model B , is the rarer one, since so few were made.

this is what I was actually thinking, but I was trying to be nice.

It was not pumping up very well when I got it , so I have oiled it. It was mighty dry all over. I will probably shoot it in the next day or so, & find out.
-
Oh my goodness! What can be said? Just WOW! Even if it doesn't shoot, it can be repaired.

I don't know if you know UJ Backus, but he's a great guy and keeps a registry for Sheridan A & B models. if you are willing, I'm sure he'd love to add yours to his registry. His email is: sheridan@ujays.net
Here is the registry website:
http://www.ujays.net/registry. (http://www.ujays.net/registry.)
looks like he has almost 120 model A, but only 33 model Bs. Yours would be an awesome addition for visitors to the website to admire!!
-
My mouth literally dropped open when I saw it. Very nice rifle.
I'm beyond jealous right now. ;)
-
Yes, I know UJ. He has this one listed.

I assume they can be re-sealed, but any idea on who or were to get the parts? I hope the secret sauce gets the juices following ;D

I use oil on it, so I am hoping it will come alive. Parts are available from a couple of sources.

OK... I don't know how you slipped this comment in under the radar but I gotta ask.
How much?

Curious minds wanna know, I keep thinking "what if?"
Now if it is Taboo to post, my apologies .
Send me a PM?
-
You weren't the only one to get curious. The moment he put that thread up I had PM'd him in 30 seconds. Haha
-
I was surprised I was the first to ask.
We PMed as well.
Too rich for my blood, but it didn't hurt to ask. ;D
-
I never even asked. For one thing, I know Steve well enough to know what he would pay. For seconds, I know what they sell for. I'm pretty sure he paid somewhere in between... lol
I also know that the only way I could ever get one would be to sell off half of the guns we have and we've become pretty attached to nearly all of them. So, unless some miracle happens, I'll just enjoy his through his posts, pictures and e-mails. From where I'm sitting in my recliner I can enjoy about 40 vintage airguns displayed throughout this area of our home. I can assure you, we enjoy admiring and shooting every one of them as much as Steve enjoys his. BTW... if there was room and Betty Lou would let me, my Harley would be sitting right here in the middle of it all.... best not to push my luck.

I got one recently too, perhaps from the same person. Now I have 3 Super Grades and 1 Model B. The B was more than the others due to the rarity that Jim mentioned. My trigger was a little stiff when I got it, but after lubing lightly and reducing the trigger tension spring, it is nice and crisp now. Mine shoots well with small extreme spread and SD, and I plan to shoot it.

Very nice !

Got people just hoarding these guns around me. Y'all sure making me jealous.

Very nice example Stephen. I purchased a model A in December 2015. I've considered searching out a B, but just haven't had quite enough interest to pull the trigger yet. My Super Grade was shooting great for the first month, but then started losing air when pumped.
After a lot of research, and advise from a couple of guys that used to repair these rifles, I dove in and completed a reseal. I've been repairing and customizing AG's for about 35 years now so I was not too intimidated. However, when I found the extreme scarcity for replacement seals, and the often difficulty in getting a successful valve repair, I was a little apprehensive.
After many tries, and a custom made pump cup from one acquaintance, and two pairs of valve seals from another, I was able to get it working perfectly again. I then refinished the stock, added a pachmyr white lined butt pad, (I don't like plastic butt pads as they can slip on hard floor surfaces). I also machined a small fiber optic sight blade to help my old eyes acquire the target better. The pad and sight blade use the existing mounting method, so I can change it back to original if I ever wanted too. I shoot it pretty often. No more than 8 pumps as recommended by Sheridan, but usually from 4-6 pumps is fine for me. I'm getting 555fps with 4 pumps, 644 with 6 pumps, and 714 with 8. For the best accuracy, mine loves the 11.4gr H&N FTT pellets, and second choice is the 13.7 JSB Exact. Those velocitys are with the lighter FTT. I get about 40fps less with the Exacts.
Here are a couple of pic's

You can try UJays method to revive the pump cup if it doesn't continue pumping. That worked very well for one of my supergrades.
