Hello everyone,
I currently have 22 condor and haven't shot it in months, years. I am wanting to do some hunting squirrel ,rabbit and call some coons. Should I keep it or sell it and get a 25 maurader??
-
In experience, just have both. 😁

Hi Jon
If you like shooting the condor, you might want to look into getting a 25 cal barrel for it. I think it's a direct swap.
Hope this helps

The Marauder .25 is a nice shooter, but as Dave mentioned it'll be less expensive to get a .25 Condor barrel. They swap out pretty easily. You can find many YouTube videos to guide you if you aren't really sure how to do it. If you don't like the way the Condor shoots and only want one air rifle, then I'd say you can't go wrong with a .25 Marauder. Jmo

With a 20 fpe 22. cal airgun you can shoot everything on your list above. You can always increase your fpe to increase killing power & shoot longer distances easily too. See how easy it is to increase your fpe and tune for higher fpe. Does it meet your needs, if not add another gun to the arsenal!
I have a stock 1720T carbine and a 22. & 25. cal Prod carbines that can shoot 30 fpe so everything that you listed I have shot at and killed plus a few C-rats. Some kills I don't post about. Now my 25. cal Mrod will rock the heck out of whatever is walking around and be super stealthy as well... I have invested a bit of money in to it, upgrades include a WAR valve, NBH, depinger & LDC and shooting at 50fpe a stock Prod has a louder report. The Mrod is a heavy gun and add a big scope and it gets heavier. I use a sling to pack it around when I am shooting it.

Love my Mrod but if I had a condor I would convert it to .257. ;)

Let me answer your question with a question:
Why aren't you shooting your Condor, and what do you think a Marauder will do for you that a Condor can't?
I would expect a Condor would take the intended game with attention to accuracy and distance.

I don't know why I don't shoot the condor much. I guess I am more of a powder burner. I do a lot of squirrel hunting but always with 22lr. The gun is really long too. Also, being a lefty not too many choices. I tend to hunt mostly with pistols also.

There is really only one major advantage that I see of having the marauder, IT'S A REPEATER! Other than that I would opt for the .25 barrel for cheaper cost, but if that's no issue for you then I see no problem of having both guns lol.

Personally I'm sold on the idea of a quick second shot myself!

I like the pistol a lot with the stock. I like a repeater as well. I want something I can mount a scope on and go hunting. I am not a tinker of guns. On my powder burners once I find a load I stick with it. I can change parts out but that's about as far as I want to go. How's expensivewas that pistol with the upgrades?
Thanks

I own both an M-Rod, and a Talon that has basically been converted to a Condor SS. The Talon has the 18" 25 barrel, with Condor Tank and the R&L Valve, it will make up to 100 ft.lbs. and is very accurate. Will easily take any of the above mentioned game plus some. The barrel swap is basically a few Allen screws, pull it out, slide in new one, and put the screws back. As for my M-Rod super quiet, accurate almost to a fault, I have been able to pick squirrels off the wife's bird feeders from 20 - 45 yards taking strictly head shots. Have pushed it out to the 70 yard mark, but it's still stock and tuned to get three mags from a 2500 PSI fill. So you have a tough choice, I like both of mine, and honestly I'm seriously considering trying to find another M-Rod to convert to 30 cal since their are mags to keep the repeater aspect and move up to 30.

Thanks for the info. I think I want a repeater. I just need to find someone who was a25 cal mrod that's wants to trade.
