Does anyone know if Vern does custom grips? He posted a beautiful set of charcoal grey laminate on the AA classifieds (http://www.airguns.net/classifieds/show_ad.php?adNum=133077&adSort=accessories&StartingAd=0&NumberOfPages=2), so I emailed him a couple days ago about possibly getting a set of ambidextrous built for my 2240, but I never heard back. I'm guessing he's just busy, but if anyone knows he doesn't do custom orders, then I won't bother trying to email him again.
So hard to find grips that I like, I probably just need to keep watching the AA until he posts a set that tickles me fancy.

I cant speak as to how busy or if he does custom orders (he told me he did) but I have 4 sets of his grips and they are works of art....either keep trying or Im sure someone will chime in with other sources...bunch of them out there... ....good luck

Thanks Tennx. I've pretty much settled on his grips, I just don't want to bug the guy. Also, spam filters can cause issues I guess. Maybe I'll email him from my work account. Everything I've found on Vern is that he gets back quickly and does exceptional work.

It's actually Joshua Austin and yes, he does custom work. And some very exquisite work too. He did a set of presentation walnut grips for a pistol I donated and we raffled off at the last Fun Shoot. I'll send him a link to this thread.

Thanks for the connection. His posts are under "Vernon" on the AA and his email is vaustin928 so I made an assumption. LOL.
Just wanting to talk grips with him....

Finally made a connection, just had an email snafu on one end or the other.
Requested this shape (https://postimg.org/gallery/w0jbhwym/) in this color (https://postimg.org/gallery/wm5b38gu/). Keeps the blackout theme of the pistol, but the shape looks more comfortable than a '72 Buick! This is a brand new material for him, so he hasn't made this exact combination yet; but I have no problem waiting for them.

as much as I like the grips he made for me...their design makes it hard for 2 hand shooting...my problem not his...good luck

That was a concern of mine too, he said the compact target grips are designed for either single or 2 handed shooting, but as you said, it's such a subjective thing, until you have them in your hand, it's so hard to tell. I was torn between ambidextrous and RH target, so I split it and went with the compact target.

He does fine work. I have a set he made for my 2400kt. I'm assuming he's really busy. I emailed him a whole back and he said he was trying to get a website going for his grips.

It sounds like he works 7 days a week even during the holidays. I did hear from him yesterday, tentative ship date for my grips is today pending the finish drying, so maybe tomorrow.... That would make an excellent christmas present (even if they don't get here until next week) for my 2240. I'll post pics once I have them installed. All of the work I've seen of his is truly art, he really has an eye for grain and material selection. I seriously can't wait to get my hands on these.... ;D

Wished he made stocks....you will be a happy camper....good luck

Finally got a chance to fit these to the 2240, had a couple minor interferences, but man was it worth the effort. They look great, keep the blackout/greyscale theme of the pistol and feel every bit as good as they look. I'm not one for pretty parts, but I couldn't help myself when he posted a set for the MKI in this material, I didn't know it before he posted them, but this is exactly what I was waiting for.

I am going to have him make a set of his full size (with finger grooves) for my 2400 build someday. I still love these, his work is absolutely impeccable.
