Over in the thread "How to choose 10m Air Rifle", ac12 suggested to me that I buy a good book on shooting and specifically recommended "Ways of the Rifle" and "Air Rifle Shooting". He didn't give an author and I wasn't able to find either book on Amazon Books...
On the Cibles Canada Targets website, I did find another book and I'd like to know if anyone here is familiar with it and what their impression of it is. It's called "MEC Air Rifle Training and Competition Book". Here's a link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Release-MEC-Air-Rifle-Training-and-Competition-book-/331982676002?hash=item4d4bb5a022 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Release-MEC-Air-Rifle-Training-and-Competition-book-/331982676002?hash=item4d4bb5a022)
Thank you for your thoughts.

I'm not familiar with that book, so can't comment on it. What I have to offer is this link that you might find helpful.

Tons of info there, some of it free. Hope this helps.

I haven't read it myself, but I've heard that a book called "from trigger to target" is quite good. The author did one or two others that expand on the theme.
I believe they are out of print, so you have to score a used copy.

"Trigger to target" is an in-depth study on spring-gun mechanics. Though a good read (I owned a copy) it will not help you with 10m freehand shooting at all.
"Ways of the Rifle" is the Bible of 3 position shooting.

I ordered the updated version of that book here in Canada... different cover and different title, but I'm assured it's the latest 2015 version of that book. And the authors are the same. It's the book in the link I posted earlier in this thread.
Thanks for the help.

I have the first edition of both books.
I wonder what they updated?
I may pick up the latest AR book.
But first I need to get the AP book.

I just received the new book and it's very impressive. Looks like EVERYTHING is covered!
The preface says in part, "This book is based on the German title 'LUFTGEWEHR-SCHIESSEN' from 2010. However, just four years on from that publication, the text and images have been almost completely revised following changes to rules, guns and training methods." It further says that they were adding new findings to the book right up to the day before it went to the printers. Very up-to-date. I've been thumbing through it for the last 30 minutes, and must say that I'm real glad I got this. Thank you for pointing me towards this.
