Title: Mod 95 .25 and round balls?
Post by: Kowboi on December 08, 2016, 11:57:07 AM
Has anyone tried round balls with their mod 95? #3 shot for instance? I hear ballistic products super buck is pretty consistent.

Seen the question asked before but never considered it myself, so now you have me curious and following your thread to see your results if you try.

I tried led balls with my mod88 4,5mm.  They are not acurrate at all. At 10m sperad is about 10cm. Penetration is also lower when shot at wood board compared to even wadcutters.

I'd be more tempted if I had something else in .25.

Although if roundball lead shot poorly in my 95, it would make some dandy ammo for my slingshots.

I've tried gamo .22 round ball in my Hatsan 95 vortex, they didn't shoot accurately. The same gamo round ball works great in pcp rifles and multi-pump airguns.
I know it's not exactly what you're looking for.

I find it quite interesting that a round ball is inaccurate unless they are cast carelessly. There is so much less to go wrong with a round ball than a typical pellet in many cases.. Bore fit, IN MY OPINION, would be an area that I'd looking at before casting final judgement...  ;D
