Title: HW100TK 16J .177
Post by: straightshooter on December 01, 2016, 01:59:48 PM
I finally got to shoot my new HW100 yesterday, there was a light wind and I was using my favorite JSB 10.34 Pellets at 25M. This target was shoot on its second fill of air.

What do you folks think of the accuracy?

Nice rifle Eric!  I like that stock too, I don't think I've seen an HW100 stock like that before...

I live in Carmel, it's a small town just outside of Bangor.  My avatar picture was taken somewhere along the appalacian trail on one of my journeys.

Very nice!  Accuracy looks great and, will probably improve a little once everything wears in a bit.

If my math is right that puts it at a hair under 12 fpe? If that's the case, do you find the trajectory horribly loopy with 10.3 pellets?

Beautiful rifle and the accuracy looks good she is definitely ready to do some small game and pesting. you might want to try dome 8 gr pellets and see how she shoots

Hey Scott,

Thanks! I am sticking with Springer's. I took advantage of the AOA sale on D56's and my D56 will be my new USARB 25M Rifle and my D54 will continue to be my HFT Rifle. I look forward to shooting with you again! Yea, it sure was a long wait for this Rifle.

Hey Chris,

The weather went to &^^& in MI and I have not done any shooting since. :(

Your going to like the t06 trigger in the D56. Looking forward to spring/summer for field target. In the mean time I think there is an indoor benchrest match next Sunday, 8th.

Straightshooter,
I'm on the verge of buying my first pcp. The hw100 is high on my list. I've been doing research for months and not much gets mentioned about the weihrauch pcp rifles. I would love to read a full range report with as much info as you are willing to write.

My watch list is;
BSA R10 mk2
FX streamline
Taipan mutant
Hw100 lam .22
And a host of others I can't afford.

Thanks in advance,
Higgs

Hey Higgs,

I really have not spent enough time with either of my HW100's to feel comfortable making recommendations, I have had some accuracy issues (flyers) with my HW100 .22 that I have not sorted out yet and I have only shot my HW100 .177 less than 100 shots. I have not shot my HW100 .177 or any of my Air Guns after starting this thread ☹️

I am currently snowbirding in FL and kicking myself for not taking any Rifles down.

Nice rig !
need to try some JSB 7.87's

Agree as a Non FAC sub 12 gun those 10.3's are not the right pellet for it.

Snow was on the way and I just grabbed my favorite pellets and was able to shoot two cylinders of air before the snow shut the session down. I have 7.87's and will give them a go. Thanks.

Exactly what I did Eric... Tank is due on the doorstep Wednesday! Figured the 72CF was all I needed. Now just have to show patience and wait for the rifle! Any additional advice other than cleaning the barrel before I shoot it?

Hey john,

The only thing that comes to mind is check out some YouTube video's on the magazine installation if you have not already. Once you have done it several times it will be second nature. There is a line on the magazine that I always put at the 12:00 position so you will know when the magazine is empty.

I also ordered 2 extra magazines and the single shot adapter that I mainly use at the gun club range.
I stop shooting when the needle gets to the yellow. I have not cleaned my barrel, but I do not know if this is good advice or not?

I had a slow leak in my tank that took me a couple months to realize why I was not getting anywhere near the fills I should have. I would recommend after you get your tank filled to fill a spray bottle with soapy water and spray it around all connections where you see teflon tape, if you do not have any bubbles then all is good. I had to redo the teflon tape on my second gauge.

I can't think of anything else.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the heads up on the leak check for the air bottle. Having flown hot air balloons and dealing with pressurized propane for the last 40 years I definitely will check the bottle for leaks. Looks like the gun is scheduled for delivery today. Cannot believe how fast the service was. I expected to have the tank for a week before the rifle arrived! Again, I appreciate the recommendation. Great prices and great service... Enjoy your stay in FL. I was born and lived there for 45 years before leaving 20 years ago. John
