Title: MY .30 caliber paintball conversion( some pics
Post by: Rob M on November 19, 2016, 02:00:35 AM
I was inspired by another thread, gotta cite his name here ----/// Anyway , got the gun for 17 on ebay, it held air , so i dug in..

first i chopped the hopper and forward extension off for mockup, i also removed the linkage that loads the next ball

the i took my remington 700 barrel i turned down , and started cutting stuff

after that, I started painting and making bushings to mount the barrel on a sliding action system

the barrel backs up to cover the transfer tube , almost fits perfect and to seal it , i put a fat oring around the transfer port ,when the  the barrel goes backit  compresses the oring creating an air seal

still need to make a bolt for the bolt action , add a goofy charging handle to the hammer bolt ( not pictured

i guess we will see if it launches a pellet monday! few more things to do..

ME TOO!  8)  i know it works , how hard it shoots will be interesting.. gonna do a carbon fiber shroud on the barrel , and it has a rail for optics lol  ;D

some preliminary results, with no valve mods. 243 fps with 44.75 grain predators LMBO. I will double the valve volume and add a hammer wieght i already made, and may need to shorten the barrel.. the gun becomes silent with a pellet firing..

Lets hope not and I have done some risky stuff as well. Just be smart about it so you don't join the "stupid hurts " club.

By the way I have been a member for many years now. LOL

LOL, it will be fine..Ill over-engineer all the connections. I actually think the current valve volume would be sufficient were it not also feeding the blowback for the paintball semi auto function. It is nice not having to cock the hammer between shots.
Title: new chrono data with some porting

290fps high(8.4fpe ), too much fun with 30 cal predators, knocks bark off a healthy tree at 10 yards.once the 12 gram started running lower, it settled arounf 265 fps..I only ported the inlet and exaust areas on the valve.. its super restrictive , i need to figure out a way to make it flow better, or the added volume wont do anything .. With the hammer weight on , it dropped 30 fps.. So ill need to find a better hammer spring, even of i lose the semi auto hammer function because of it.. I also need to shorten the barrel , Its virtually silent when firing a pellet.

Definitely need more flow to push those 30 cal pellets out faster and its why it so quiet since all the CO2 is used up before the pellet leaves the barrel.

Still sounds like fun indeed.

added a bolt handle.. tommor , i will chop the barrel , shorten the valve spring , and increase the ports i did today..gotta find a new hammer spring, thats a huge factor hoping to get to 400fps soon.

valve stem mods
(http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx102/robnewyork50/stem%20mod.jpg) (http://s746.photobucket.com/user/robnewyork50/media/stem%20mod.jpg.html)

the screw mod caused full auto fire that was defeaning.. the other porting mods were good
