I never got around to getting decent pics of my Winchester 1400cs in .177 caliber. It's nearly 52" long, & weighs 9lbs + with scope mounted. I have yet to clean the barrel the first time though. And you can't see the flutes in the barrel very well either. I'll need one of those long-handled .17cal cleaning rods & spear jag to get the patches past all the suppressor baffles easily. And since you have to cock these break barrels to clean the bore, I'll have fun shooting it out the patio door with some 8-10 grain pellets to uncock it. It'll be a good chance to test it after dummy me dry-fired it twice? I honestly don't think it hurt anything. See how loud it is, & how it kicks loaded.

I named it, " AC/DC"...ala " Big Gun". Big gun kick da h*** outta you...It actually does so far.

Idk why my post got moved here? I heard Daisy makes them for Winchester. But they make'em in China??? I would also like to have been made aware of the move...

your rifle should have a "made in china" stamp, (probably on the left side of the pivot block), but possibly on the action of the rifle too. If this is incorrect, please let me know and we will be happy to move it to the proper gate.
I apologize for not sending you notification that it was moved sooner.
-
Dang, that's long. Nice gun though.
Let us know how it shoots, where'd ya get it? How much?
-
I got it on Walmart.com for $199.99 with free pickup at the local store on 8/17/16. Walmart.com usually has best prices on airgun stuff. But you have to watch sales on other sites as well. I got the Hatsan Striker 1000x .22 at midwayusa.com for the cheapest price ever of $95.99 plus S&H. This 1400cs is just about always $199.99 no matter where you look. Pretty standard price, it seems. I'd also love to find out who made the no-name 3-9x32mm scope it comes with?
-
How hard is it to cock? Do you have plans to shorten it and take it afield? My issues with really long guns is transportation.
-
Yeah, after sight in/ break in, I wanna hunt with it. Might be good for longer distance rabbits? Gonna leave it all original if possible? To be a gun rarely purchased could make it valuable in the future? Also can't find case long enough as yet? Takes both hands to cock easily.
-
Sounds good, let us know how it goes. Have fun.
Maybe there is some type of musical instrument that length/width to snag a case for.
-
Hm. I've got a stack of cased guitars, but none that long. I'll have to take some actual measurements & look around? I'll post results when I can start shooting it someplace, or the new range opens.
-
maybe these would work for you.

Thanks Ron, but it was me that moved it. My bad for not sending a PM.

Both of those cases look like they might just barely fit interior dimensions? Guess I'll have to choose which, since I need one. Have to remove bipod, though? I guess it was my fault it got moved? Such is my dumb luck...
-
Dang it! Photobucket is messed up again, so no pics this time. Upload button signs me out, rather than going to upload utility. Emailed them & now gotta wait some more.
Anyway, My Dewey one-piece cleaning rod came in a lil while ago, & I set about cleaning the Winchester's bore for the first time. More of the same black crud as the Hatsan. Rod worked real smooth though, & I finally got a clean patch. I loaded it with a Beeman silver arrow pellet, 11.5gr. I used the bipod on the kitchen table & shot out the patio door once. Kicked pretty hard, harder than the .22lr mini-mags I have for the PB's. Louder by a bit too. But it seems to fire just fine, even though I dry fired it 2x's. Whew. No cops so far...lol.
-
OK, photobucket says they know of my/our issue & got engineers working on it. anyway, finally got these to show from cleaning the barrel for the first time. I also used my new Dewey 26", ball bearing handled,. spear tip .17 caliber jagged, nylon coated cleaning rod in order to get patches past the suppressor baffles on these guns. Here's a couple pics of the patches & the Dewey cleaning rod for .17/.177 caliber bores, as is the jag. Nice little cover for the spear tip too...

Okay, well, I got the Caldwell deluxe chronograph kit, set it up in front of a home-made backstop packed full of junk mail, packed down & backed with 4" of pink Styrofoam insulation, 3/4" particle board, & a 2x12. Winchester 1400cs .177 " magnum" surprised me with how sensitive to pellet weight it is. Keeping in mind Kenny of myairgunreviews got an average of 1410FPS with 5.2gr pellets out of it, here's my numbers from three different pellets, six shots each, all pellets from Straight Shooter's sample packs in FPS;
JSB Straton, 8.44gr Beeman Laser, 6.5gr JSB Express, 7.82gr
815 1,156 1,081
868 1,146 1,074
732 1,146 872
706 1,119 1,066
797 1,134 662
726 1,106 1,057
Average velocity after 6 shots-
774FPS 1,134.5FPS 968.67FPS
All pellets fit flush easily in the breech. Maybe a bit too easy? So far, the Beeman Lasers look the best. Surprising there was that much difference from 5.2gr to these three? Also, toward the end, the breech started blowing puffs of smoke when firing. Smoking barrel after each shot. And I cleaned it before shooting & dry patched it? Need a breech seal already.
-
Interesting. I wonder what the difference is between this model and the Winchester 1100? Mine is pushing 9.7gr Winchester domes at 850-860 and CPHP 7.9gr at around 1020 fps.
It took a good bit to clean the barrel on my rifle too.
And the breech is plenty loose, but shot to shot consistency is good, so I guess it's okay.
-
Not sure what the difference is, I'd have to see one first. This one is new, but geez. That's quite a lot of difference for a tiny amount of weight? Was smoking pretty good after shots too, even with a good cleaning first. Then breech seal started blowing puffs of smoke when fired. Need a new breech seal already on a new gun!? Screws were tight, but I'll have to check'em again. And even though pellets seat a lil too easy, it seemed to shoot fine until breech seal started going south.
** Looked at pics here for yours- https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=winchester%201100%20air%20rifle%20pics%3F&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=winchester%201100%20air%20rifle%20pics%3F&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk= (https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=winchester%201100%20air%20rifle%20pics%3F&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=winchester%201100%20air%20rifle%20pics%3F&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=)
Break barrel like my new one. Takes some effort to cock it too.
-
This is what I have:
https://www.amazon.com/Winchester-1100WS-Break-Barrel-Air-Rifle/dp/B003WHPCW4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488145139&sr=8-1&keywords=winchester+1100ws (https://www.amazon.com/Winchester-1100WS-Break-Barrel-Air-Rifle/dp/B003WHPCW4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488145139&sr=8-1&keywords=winchester+1100ws)
The tube is 1.250" o.d. and 13.5" from breech to plastic plug at the rear. It's easy to cock.
I emailed Daisy and breech seals are $1.00.
-
I thought that was the one you have from the pics on the page I found. I went to Winchester site & emailed them for parts list, info and such after telling them basic info like where/when purchased, my problem, etc. Got email saying they received & 3-5 days to respond. Bought it 8/16/16, so it should still be under warranty?
http://winchesterairrifles.com/Default.aspx (http://winchesterairrifles.com/Default.aspx)
-
Okay, spoke to Winchester on the phone last week, & they're sending me a new breech seal, so I bought two extra just in case. Should be here this week, along with these;
(http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/Beemanslvrbear.jpg)
Removed the bipod to save weight after installing this Hammers 4-12x40AO scope on Instapark 5-bolt mount, both off Amazon;
(http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/IMG_0387.jpg)
Already got these in as well;
(http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/IMG_0385_1.jpg)
I'll get some more chronograph numbers as soon as everything's in & the skies clear up. Lightening, thunder & rain atm...
-
Well, now that my new hip is installed, I can get back to waiting for a bright, sunshiny day to film some more Chrono shots through my android phone. I figured I'd get velocity numbers to go with the weight numbers. THEN try'em out at the range to see what they do. I still say velocity & range/POI are more closely related than many realize.
-
Is that a spring powered gun or gas piston? Either way, I would strongly suggest you get some heavy pellets. In the ubermagnums like your Winchester, light pellets will burn/slam the piston seal and snap springs in short order. Plus there is little to gain pushing pellets much over 950 fps due to destabilization nearing the sound barrier. These guns are meant for heavy ammo which "carries up" a lot better at the long ranges you mention shooting at. Just a bit of friendly advice.
Also, if your gun can do this, you can often decock by breaking the barrel, taking a firm grip and pulling the trigger, controlling the barrel as it comes up. I do this on my Ruger Air Magnum. Saves a few pellets and is handy when you can't shoot one out safely.
-
I don't believe all that stuff about breaking springs and generally blowing the thing up when too many or maybe just a couple light pellets are used. These things are designed for them. And I'm not using 4 or 5 grain pellets, like the 5.2 grain Kenny used to get that 1410FPS. All the testing with light pellets he did didn't blow it up or break anything. BUT, after 20 total shots, it did smoke the breech seal, and a month or so later, I'm still waiting for the seals they sent me to get here. Called them some 2 weeks ago about it, they finally found, as I figured, their computer had generated a bad tracking number. Then hey called the postmaster in Lorain that takes care of our mail. He called me & said he couldn't find it, hasn't found it yet, & would keep looking. That was some 2 weeks ago. So all testing has come to a halt with this rifle. It smoked from the breech like a freshly fired 12 gauge every shot. And I cleaned/dry patched the barrel first. Must've been very liberal with the assembly lubes? Gotta clean the barrel again.
But I did test with JSB Straton 8.44gr, JSB Express 7.87gr, & Beeman Laser 6.5gr. Results are back in post on Feb 26th. I'm liking the JSB Exact Express 7.87gr @ an average of 968.67FPS as a good compromise between velocity & FPE @ POI. I refuse to believe a pellet weighing a jungle ton, slowing the thing waaaay down is going to store all that energy to POI. Like a very heavy flywheel, it's using all that energy to get moving in the first place. It is not going to carry all of it to 50-100 yards. Especially in .177 caliber. But we'll see if/when the seals ever get here. Unless you might know of a non-factory site to get the breech seals from? I'd love to get this going again.
-
And, after a bit of trouble with bad tracking numbers, etc, I finally got the breech seals. One warranty replacement & two I bought to have extras.
(http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/IMG_0453.jpg)
I had to use a small mallet, a paring knife & a small, pocket screwdriver to get the old breech seal out. they fit quite tightly, And must be evenly pried out around their circumference. Then a Qutip soaked in Pellgun oil to clean & lube the seal land. Then coated the seal with lube placed evenly in the end of the seal land. Tapped it in with a small mallet & 3/4 inch diameter dowel rod. left a little bit more sticking out than normal to be sure it found the sweet spot to seal. Shot two Beeman Silver Bear pellets through it (7.1gr). It cracked a bit louder than before & kicked noticeably harder. I'm calling this operation a success. Removed the bipod to save weight, and it actually shifted balance back to in front of trigger guard. Also removed the factory 3-9x32 scope. Replaced it with a Hammers 4-12x40AO scope on Instapark 5-bolt rail mount they call a magnum air rifle mount. Got both on amazon.
(http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/IMG_0387.jpg)
When the weather clears & thus brightens up enough, I wanna make a video of chronograph numbers with this rifle & the new pellets I bought to test in it once more, now that it has a new breech seal. I brushed, oil patched and dry patched the barrel again. got filthy after only 20 shots.
-
And I'll bet for all that breech seal swapping, you'll still on occasion get a little smoke after firing...lol. It happens, we all get it and I have rifles that even after 1000+ shots still do now and then and none of them has ever "smoked" a breech seal. Even for being an air rifle, firing one still creates heat from the friction of the pellet against the barrel which translates to that little puff of smoke you see.
It's also not a matter of how much stored energy you can get out to the 50+ yard mark, it's accuracy not to mention making a humane kill at that distance or farther...I don't care how fast you chuck it out the barrel, the farther that .177 pellet gets down range, the more wobbly it's going to get if it's a lighter weight and the more wind is going to start affecting it and turning the spin it started with into a tumble. Although you'll still get it moving up to a 10 or 12 grain pellet, it won't be quite as bad and give you a little better accuracy at longer ranges.
These guys really aren't trying to rain on your parade, just give you solid advice based on lots of experience :)
-
Well, that's where some of the newer thoughts differ. Wish I'd have saved every nit-picky dissertation. Anyway, they say now the lighter (not too much lighter) pellet travels so fast, it's actually spending less time in flight to target to be effected by the wind, for one. And all three barrels were filthy after not so many shots. Cleaned them, added new breech seal, shot twice, and no smoke to speak of. For now. It just seems counter-productive to use super heavy pellets that kill all the power to slow it down to more stability. Like a mid-powered rifle. I say we don't have to slow them down that much to get power at range and stability. That's all...
-
All barrels are dirty from the factory, there's always dirt and gunk left in there from producing them and the factories never clean them before they box them up. I own 20 and every one of them had a mess in there ranging from not so bad to down right nasty.
As far as pellet weights, something in the 10-12gr range which would park you in the middle of the range for .177 pellet weights. Not too heavy yet not too light and should give you real nice accuracy.
-
Run a couple of searches on transonic shock and diablo or waisted pellets. They aren't the most aerodynamic projectiles. Don't confuse speed with power. A lot of ft lbs on paper never end up leaving the page. Why the prior post recommended a bit heavier pellet. Believe me, you are not giving up anything.
The smoke you see in the breech most likely comes from any volatile vapors combusting in the compression tube. Temps run very high, if only for a fraction of a second. Why we don't use petroleum products in front of the piston.
-
I know all barrels have used motor oil for rust preventive from the factory. I cleaned all three before shooting the first time. I mean after shooting the Crosman 12-15 times, Hatsan 56 times, Winchester 20 times, those barrels were filthy as new again! So I cleaned all three once more. And the Hatsan and Winchester being break barrels, I had to load and shoot them to, " uncock". The Winchester didn't smoke after two shots this time. I'd swabbed the bores damp with Rem-Oil before using the barrel brushes. Then finished oil and dry patch cleaning.
Without a certain amount of velocity, there will be no power. Velocity is movement. Power comes from movement. I'll see how things go at the range until I get my hip and thigh/back muscles strong enough again after hip surgery 2 weeks ago today to get afield once more next season.
-
Okay, well, I finally got the new breech seals from Daisy in the mail. Had to use a paring knife, pocket-size screwdriver and tack hammer to R&R it, but I got it. Seals real well now. Which enabled me to test three tins of different pellets I bought in .177 caliber for this rifle with my Caldwell deluxe chronograph. Connected to my cell phone app, here's a video that gives all the information as I shoot this big heavy rifle;

Also interesting, as can be seen in this recent photo, is the fact that the Winchester 1400cs is only about 2 inches longer and about a pound heavier than the Benjamin Trail NP XL725!

Well, gentlemen, I must concede to the evidence you've presented. Another buddy on one of the Facebook air rifle pages has the same rifle and kills medium-size game with it. Although a couple of his pellet choices are made " for PCP only(*)" per their labeling. His choices for most used in his 1400cs are;
H&N Baracuda Match 10.65gr
Gamo Rocket 9.6gr
H&N Terminator 7.5gr
H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme 9.57gr
H&N Sniper Magnum 15gr*
Gamo Silent Cat 10.5gr
JSB Exact Monster diabolo 13.43gr*

These are the pellets I currently have, after trying some from 2 boxes of Straight Shooter samples I've since traded for a heavy load of .22 pellets.
http://imageshack.com/a/img924/1510/IoEvcw.jpg (http://imageshack.com/a/img924/1510/IoEvcw.jpg)
So, in light of these, which would you say I should try next? I think the (*) marked ones are too heavy, made for PCP's additional power.

heres 10 to 14 grain .177

Thanks for the link. I'll order a couple of those when I get paid next week.

H&N Baracuda Airgun Pellets .177 Cal, 10.65 Grains, Round Nose, 500ct $12.97 free ship to store pickup
wish they had the .22
-
Take a look at Walmart.com. They got a lot of tins of pellets marked new the other day. Saw the Baracuda 10.65's and more I earmarked till Friday. Pyramid air as well. Want shoulder slings from Benjamin and Hatsan. Now if I can just get Winchester 1400cs sling mounts I can use'em on the Striker 1000x.
-
by the way kenny kormendy had issues with this rifle being too long on barrel i believe, dont go too heavy i think around 10 should be fine
https://youtu.be/AXnN_FpUQ6Y?t=14m3s
-
Another guy on the Facebook air rifle pages named Ollom has the same rifle, and even kills coyotes with it. Besides coons and such. He uses heavy pellets (it'd take awhile to read and find which ones) and does fine. I wonder if Kenny just got an off one? I did make a wish list of pellets, all 10.65 or less. For some reason, I felt this was the way to go?
-
i believe over 8.5 to 14 should work.. 14 might be questionable.
-
Here's the 3 tins of .177 pellets I finally chose from a long wish list;
http://imageshack.com/a/img922/1263/P12rG3.jpg (http://imageshack.com/a/img922/1263/P12rG3.jpg)
Not too heavy, not too light. I think these should give a bit more range? I'll find out. They arrive Amazon Prime tomorrow.
-
the range of higher FPE .. i bet one of the barracudas will be best.
crow mag catches too much air in huge hollow point so likely will drop FPE at further distance.
these look interesting
Air Arms Field Heavy .177 Cal, 4.52mm, 10.34 Grains, Domed, 500ct
but JSB Diabolo Exact Heavy .177 Cal, 10.34 Grains, Domed, 500ct seems as better choice as the reviewer says the skirts fit loose in the air arms field heavy
-
I'll see when the darn chrono quits making 10+ errors in a row after changing 9v battery, etc.
-
Okay, well, I learned something with this Caldwell chronograph and IR lights. Use the wall wort to plug in the lights! It cuts way down on those error 2 and error 3's! Finally got some numbers on the 2 new tins of slightly heavier pellets. Heavier than the JSB Exact Express 7.87gr, H&N sniper light 7.5gr, or Beeman silver bear 7.10gr. Here's the Beeman silver bears first, then the 3 new tins;

Okay, I tested the 3 new pellets and did a Youtube video about it- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLW_KGi6mLk&t=2s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLW_KGi6mLk&t=2s) They definitely surprised me...& the pellets tested-

-
I was looking around Walmart.com for stuff yesterday afternoon, and found H&N Hornets in .177 @ $19.10 per 225ct tin.
(http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/924/8Pqj7R.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/po8Pqj7Rj)
Found them at Walmart.com @ 9.6gr. A bit heavier than the H&N hunter extreme @ 9.57gr, but lighter than the H&N hunter @ 10.34gr. I thought they'd be good in the 1400cs for long range small game like chucks and rabbits...even small pigs?
-
Nice videos Leonard, keep up the good work my friend!
-
Thank you. Good to hear some folks get something outta my nerdy ramblings! Darn utilities, especially Electric, breaking me lately. Kid's car ins gotta go too. Can't do it anymore and get hunting licenses, etc we need to get out there. Then new videos afield will follow as I test my pimped-out walker, pellet choices, etc. Those will be where things really get interesting.
-
Those hornets are expensive. They are really accurate and deadly out of my .22 Hatsan 125 vortex sniper. They are one of the most accurate pellets I tried out of the 125.
-
Hi Leonard ! Your Winchester Rifle looks Reallyyyy Nice and Sharp ! I like the camouflage thumb-hole stock. I prefer the thumb hole style stocks to the traditional style. I have short, thick fingers and I get a much more controlled trigger pull with a thumb hole. I checked your gun out on-line. I see it is a really powerful and fast one. It looks a lot like a Hatsan 125 TH. I enjoy your "ramblings". I consider them as Good Information. My Best Wishes & Best Regards to You Sir - Tom
-
Thanks Tom! Yeah, with H&N hunters, hunter extreme, JSB Express, it gets some good velocity. My Benjamin Trail NP XL725 .25cal makes the pellet SMACK at POI. Got a best of 858/32.55 from H&N FTT @ 19.91gr with it. 3 shots in the 6-shot group were over 30FPE! After that, highest from it was 26.00 with JSB King .25. H&N hornets got 3 out of 6 shots @ 30FPE plus. I put a Hammers 4-12x40AO mildot scope on the Winchester. Trail came with 3-9x40AO mildot Centerpoint.

Both of your Guns are Sharp Looking.. Leonard. You take very good care of them ! ;) I have the Benjamin Trail XL in 22cal. I have no idea what the speed of it is. I don't have a Chronograph to check it with. It is accurate, shoots hard and flat out to 40 - 50 yards. I have been shooting the Crosman 14.3gr Piranhas in it with good success. I follow your posts a lot. ;) Best Wishes & Good Shooting - Tom

Redtrucker, they do indeed shoot where I point them! That H&N Engineer in Germany was right about what he told me about the hornet's design and production! They designed the brass point/lead hollow point combo to have exceptional balance in flight. Besides good power from weight transfer to POI. That all combines to make the hornet's worth the extra money. Way better than those old Crosman Superpell wadcutters.
Anyway, here's some chrono readouts from the .25 magnum Trail NPXL725, and a new pic of the Winchester 1400cs with my Pimped out Walker so far. The Realtree camo duct tape from Walmart website was used on it. A golf club tube with green wire ties for the scabbard to hold my Trigger Stick. It's the monopod one that extends from 31 inches to 64.5 inches. And, after experiences with the regular diameter golf club tube, the wider 1.5" one would've been less tight against the rubber foot on the monopod Trigger Stick's leg. I have to spray it with Rem-Oil when I go to use it so it comes in-n-out easily.

And trying out the Winchester on the Trigger Stick. Definitely takes some practice using that thing to hold steady to aim as well as with a BR bag.

Okay. I've been asked to post chrono pics/read outs, so here goes with a list of them in the Winchester 1400cs...

Hope these help a little? Gotta figure out if I ever tested the JSB express, etc yet? I'm not seeing the readouts?

I did a pellet swap with a Facebook airgun group member recently. Traded a new 500ct tin of .22 H&N FTT's @ 14.66gr for a 500ct tin of CPUM .177's. The Winchester will get a chrono test video with them and the H&N Baracuda Hunter's @ 10.34 again. Just for an up-to-date comparison.

Hi Leonard. I just finished watching your last video on the Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 Re-Build. I have a gun that just loves the 117 Cal / 10.5 Gr. Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums and the 10.5 Gr. Crosman Piranhas. It is my 117/25 Cal Hatsan 85 Vortex Sniper with the 117 cal barrel on it. I'll be looking forward to your next video Leonard. Best Wishes - Tom

Thank you! The NPXL1100 chrono test video did come out pretty decent for a freshly rebuilt rifle. Pretty good just the same! I also lightened the trigger pull. Definitely more accurate. Shoots where I point it with no sights! Anyway, I did the video on the two heavies in the Winchester 1400cs .177 so called, " ultra-magnum". Enjoy...

Leonard will be picking up a 1100ssh today at Wajlly World seems to be the same gun without all the frills. Will shoot the !!!out of it and post some numbers. Love fooling with these bargain guns as mine is only 59bucks out the door. Can,t pass that up. Non scope but plan on keeping it open site for now as a pickup / shop gun. Mike

I'll be interested to see what it can do? 1100ss is the synthetic stock. Have to be for only $59? My 1400cs is still going for $199.99. Good rifle though, even if it is the " Long Tom" of magnum pellet rifles at 52"! And Kenny Kormendy tested it with 5.2gr pellets at an AVG 1,413FPS! So it's one of the few that test at or above their rating. I've chrono'd it with Beeman Silver Bear, 7.1gr, @ AVG 1174.5FPS.

Hey Leonard the guy killing coyote is he calling them or what. Mike

I was wondering about that? So far, from the stories he told on Facebook, I'd be inclined to say no. But it is a good idea in my mind. And the 3 pellets to use, I think, would be the CPUM @ 10.5gr, the H&N Baracuda Hunter @ 10.34gr, or the H&N Hornet @ 10.03gr.

Well, after Email and phone conversations with Daisy Outdoors, which owns Winchester Air Rifles, I made some headway. They finally Emailed a parts diagram and list. Even though the only, " parts" they have for sale are the bipod mounting screws?! Which is quite odd, as they sold me a couple breech seals for this rifle only last year? Must be Trump's new import policies? Anyway, I thought I'd post the diagram and list;

Didn't Daisy get bought out by Gamo? Gamo will not sell parts to you. I don't think Trump has anything to do with this.
-
Then Gamo, Daisy and Crosman all got bought out not too long ago by an American consortium. But Trump did raise import tariffs and all that, & they did say it would mess up some things. Which indeed it has. No parts or even diagrams for the GuideHawk and 725VTR. and they told me the GuideHawk is 2 years old?! What the heck is going on here? In less than a year, parts sources are drying up.
Oh, and by the by, The customer support lady told me at Daisy Outdoors, that when you read Winchester serial numbers, the four digits after the " 23" it starts with is the year it was built. In my 1400cs's case, that was 232015, or 2015.
