Title: Benjamin Maximus Help!!!
Post by: kjacks on November 07, 2016, 11:15:52 AM
Took the end cap off my Maximus last night and can't get it back on.  The pin attached to the hammer that the bolt pulls back will not go forward again.  It just travels in a groove but will not go forward to allow the hammer to move forward far enough to reinstall the end cap.  I tried to attach a picture but don't know if it worked.  Thanks in advance!

Either you need to release the trigger for the hammer to move forward or you need to push down on that little pin and see if that helps

Thanks for the reply.  The trigger has been removed and pressing down on that pin doesn't help.  The pin does not move down at all.  I am at a loss.  Do you know if the bolt handle just screws onto the bolt?  If so, I think I am going to have to remove the breech to see what the issue is.  I see my picture did not make it to the post.  Can anyone tell me how to post a picture?  I think that might help.  Thanks.

The bolt handle does just screw into the bolt.

Problem solved.  The hammer, and thus the cocking pin, must be all the way as far to the rear as possible to be pushed back down into the hammer.  Thanks to everyone for their help!
