Title: FWB124 Rebuild Kit: Factory vs Macarri?
Post by: MP44 on October 28, 2016, 06:42:41 PM
Is there any reason to go with the OEM kit over the Macarri? I have an 124 on the way and am pretty sure it's going to need a rebuild.

Is there any better spring grease than Macarri's heavy tar for the FWB 124 spring?

Anyone have a pic of a properly lubed spring? I can tear the gun down but Im not sure about the amount of grease to apply to the spring.

I put Jim's kit in my 124 and have no problem with it. Nice and smooth and quiet. I put the tar on so that it looks like you put it through a spider web (for lack of a better term), just fine strings of tar along the spring.

I've only done one FWB 124 and I used maccari parts. The rifle is fantastically smooth and absolute pleasure to shoot. I hope to own one of my own some day, I'll do the same tune, with same parts.

Should the piston slide down from it's own weight or should the piston seal be tight enough to need force to slide down the tube ( gun upside down ) when installing?
