Does anyone know the size of the grub screws used in TKO products? I want some plastic tipped screws to replace the originals.
-
You may just want to email TKO an ask him. You can probably get more of them straight from him too.
-
8/32"

Thanks, I was sure someone here knew.
I did not want more of his, I want plastic tipped scres to protect the barrel finish.

I found if you cut a bit of weed trimmer line and drop it in the hole works well. I also tried sections of buna orings but they're too soft.

I stand corrected. I forgot I had to have my TKO screw tapped for 8/32" a couple years ago. Sorry about the wrong info.

For a second i was thinking brass tipped set screws would work, but they would damage the black and potentially electrolysis react with the steel causing corrosion. I like the nylon idea particularly if you have to remove the brake frequently. The nits on the barrel from the set screws can make removing that brake a hassle. I wonder if Mike has tried this or what he thinks of ithe idea?

The other alternative I have considered is cutting the reducing end section in half and then using screws to hold it together.
That way the whole ring tightens more evenly.

Sort of like a scope ring?

Exactly like that.
