Thread title says it all.
Please discuss.

It all depends on what you will use them for IMO .all different shooting platforms.

Thanks for responding.
I just wanted to have an open discussion from multiple perspectives.
I didn't want to limit or guide the conversation.

What James said. It's like, do you want beef, pork or chicken?
Maximus - disco with a cheap stock. Low fill pressure, awful trigger, low shot count. But...it's light and cheap, and accurate and maybe all you want.
Marauder - A rifle that will stand up to the euro guns with only a few hundred dollars more work. Heavy, great trigger, highly adjustable for a variety of shooting styles and needs, sufficiently quiet, mediocre shot count that can be made better.
Prod - PCP pistol - small, less power than the rifles, lower shot count because of airtube size, but the most portable.
What all three of these guns offer is the opportunity to come out with an outstanding shooter if you invest some money/time. Honestly, I think a refurb wood-stocked Marauder at ~360-390 (especially in .25) is still one of the best airgun deals a guy can find. Even if you throw another $500 at it in custom stock and tuning, you will have a keeper for hundreds less than Daystate and AA. And speaking with a bias, it's easy to get the marauder set up for left-handed folks.

Was going to get a p rod but dont want to hope I get a shooter
Own a discovery, weight is nice, 50 yd accuracy is extremely good. con- stock trigger not worthy, stock isnt the most comfortable. add a m rod trigger, second barrel band and a heavy hammer spring and this gun is a joy to shoot and will hammer squirrels at 50 yds. mines leaking like crazy now though, need to send it out for repairs as I have rebuilt it at least 10 times with no luck.
M rod .25 After bending the lawyer spring out of the way the trigger is amazing, accuracy with exacts and poly mags are squirrel head shot at 50 yd good (they dont hit the same so you would have to sight in for one or the other).
cons- she is a heavy one
overall, I really do love my discovery and m rod equal. Give a edge to the m rod for since it is a multishot and that is a great feature for hunting and its long range accuracy has been better.

Mrod is a tinkerers dream. Can be made to compete with some of the best.
Prod is a close quarters hunters kinda gun. If you do short range hunting can tune for a decent shot count. Lots of night hunters use these from what I've seen on YouTube.
Maximus is a newbies chance to get into it and start the addiction. Not a bad gun whatsoever but can use some help like an RVA and a LDC. After that they are nice guns. I prefer the stock over the disco stock by far.
I've had 2 Mrods 4 discos and 1 Maximus. Never had a Prod but wanted one. Hard to choose if I had to pick one.

I'll play.
Disco, great affordable way to get into the PCP hobby. Crawl before you walk type of thing. I have no experience.
Marauder/Armada. Sexy lines. Capable. Heavy.
Prod. Picking this featherweight up after having handled the heavy Armada...priceless.

So many different ways to look at it.
Considering the 3 choices as more-or-less "out the box":
If you want a repeater, the Disco is out.
If it's got to be a .177 repeater, then only the M-Rod.
IF its got to be a .25, then only the M-Rod.
IF you want back-up iron sights, only the Disco provides them.
If you want light weight, the M-Rod is out.
If you want short and light weight, then only the P-Rod provides that.
If you prefer a side lever to a turn-bolt, they're all out.

I don't know what's left to say that hasn't already been said, it really boils down to what you want to do with it and how much you're willing to spend. Also, as mentioned before how much customization you want to do or have done. I would be willing to say that a .25 Mrod would probably be the most accurate out of box out of the choices given, largely do to the Green Mountain barrel over the Crosman barrels, not that Crosman can't have some good ones with a little TLC. I'm a little bias to the Mrod as well, probably one of the most adjustable and customizable guns you can possibly get to really just make it the way you want it for less than $1000. That being said I really love the Disco too, now own 2. One in .177, lots of mods, and one .22, mostly stock with a few mods, and a Mrod .25 and it's my go to gun, expecially when taking long shots down range or in the field. Never shot the Prod, but I've heard some good things about them and will probably get one someday just to complete the collection. Really I don't think a person can go wrong with any of them depending on what they wanted to do.

I've had 3 discos, 2 mrods, 2 prods, piles of air arms and bsas. That said this is my go to gun for nearly anything air gun related. Currently tuned for 32 shots in 3% at a 14fpe peak with 14.3s

Crosman told me today that they have no Marauder pistols in stock.
The older lady who told me wasn't very nice about it or helpful, either.
Regardless, the Marauder Rifle and Pistol both came out in 2010.
The MROD was updated to the 2nd Gen in 2013.
The PROD has not been updated since 2010, and is still the old 1st Gen.
Does the fact that Crosman is out of stock of the PROD, and how old the PROD is, mean that updates, or a replacement are about to be available?
I find it very strange that a semi-automatic PROD/MROD is not available yet.
Especially when you consider Hatsan released 2 models that are, that have 30 pellet magazines.

+1 Ditto.....
You wrote my response before I could.

At best, crosman may announce an update to the Prod at the spring gun show. Typically, that would mean that they might be available by the end of 2017. Also, they typically will concurrently run both versions for about a year.
While I have my desires on what crosman should offer in a Gen 2 prod, if you look at a maximus, it is just a lower cost disco.
FWIW: The Prod breech design is very similar to Mrod gen 2.

Out of the box ID have to say the marauder for trigger, silence during shooting, and accuracy. I'm a hunter though and I've held a mrod, it's very heavy. If target shooting only no big deal. For hunting id go disco with a TKO silencer or a p-rod with TKO and a power mod to get it up above 700 fps.
