Title: Winter pine tree camo
Post by: shadow on September 03, 2016, 08:09:15 PM
Throwing some winter color at a stock for a GTA family member. He was looking for a winter camo with pine branches and tossed some pine cones around just fun.

As always I put my twist to the usual camo and little touches like hand painted pine needles. Sure I could have went with one of my custom drawn and cut stencils but hand painting certain things gives it a personal touch.

One side done on to the other then start laying multiple clear Matte Coat's. Ed

That is awesome looking.  I'm a big fan of snow camo. Just like the looks of it, not like we get much snow here.  Blown away every time I look at it.

THEN when you told me you'd thtowin some pine cones it blew me away.
Now to see it I litterally giggled like a Schoolgirl!

I wanna hold it... the Precious...Gimmee gimmee gimme!
Thank You Shadow!

It's gonna be way to nice to take hunting. You'll just want to hang it on the wall and look at it!!

That thought just crossed my mind!
Then I remembered Ed saying his coatings are durrable...short of beating down brush or pummelling a critter!
It's going to get a nickel Beeman RS2 so the winter scheme is dead nuts PERFECT!

Not to worry. Brother Ed did the FireCat and that thing gets out of it's cage and thrashes around a lot. Heck, Longhunter even spooned with it for a whole weekend and it still looks like it did the day i took it out of the shipping box.

That is a scary piece of work Ed.
Fantastic on so many levels!

I did Airbrush work on Vans back in the late 70's early 80's and can see the shear talent you have on your works.

Maybe I'll get time to finish a stock soon.
It won't be to your level but your an inspiration to me.

Brother Shadow let me know he finished it up and sent it.
UPS tracking shows it's on the truck for delivery...  and I'm stuck here at work!
Even so, I find myself checking for delivery about every hour.... killing me!!
If it delivers before 3:30, I might have to arrange for one of you guys to call up front and ask for me... then I'll grab my stuff and say I need to leave "unexpectedly".
 ;)

Might want to open it up and give it a good cleaning. Could be a tad sticky inside.

Beautiful work,Ed. Might be contacting you about some Vietnam era jungle camo, for my 48. It'll be a winter project. I want to tear down the gun, and do the metal work in duracoat. I think it would make a wicked looking piece.

Be great to see the Pine tree camo around the action and she will be bone cured no sticky hehe. Scott drop me a line anytime and can put the camo you want to the 48 with a Nam twist ;). I did my Crosman M417 up with the Nam Tiger Stripe camo and the critters hate my camo hehehehe. Ed

Suddenly I feel the need for rubber gloves when shooting the FireCat.

Put it back together Friday night and mounted the new Simmons scope.
Ed warned me not to lay it down in the snow against a pine tree so I thought I should do it know while it's still green out.  ;)
.... Shes a beauty
THANK YOU!
