Besides the name on the pistol HW45 Silver Star or Beeman P11 it appears that the HW45 series has fiber optic sights where the Beeman P1 has iron sights. At least that's what I've found from talking to representatives from Airguns of Arizona who sell the HW45 and Pyramid Air who sell the Beeman series. Also it appears the velocity of the HW45 is 425fps for the 22 where the Beeman P1 is 460fps.
So although I find the name of the HW45 Silver Star a bit more appealing the iron sights and fps on the Beeman P11 is more attractive to me even though the Beeman P11 at Pyramid Air is $519 where the HW45 Silver Star is $475 at Airguns of Arizona.
I also checked out the HW45 at a couple of UK retailers but although the prices were even cheaper it appeared the hoops I would have to get over might make it too difficult or problematic to be worth it.
So although I decided to wait on a restock of the P11 at Pyramid Air than to get an in stock HW45 at Airguns of Arizona it does make me wonder why the two various versions exist to begin with especially since an American retailer is able to sell the HW version. Also I have to wonder what other differences there might be between the HW45 and the Beeman P11.

Weihrauch (HW) in Germany makes the air pistols. Beeman simply rebrands them. If you can live with any cosmetic differences, get whichever one has the best price.
-
The hw45 and P1 are the same action. Real world velocities should be the same.

Physically at least the HW45 comes with fiber optic sights where the Beeman comes with iron sights.

And that may very well be true although the advertised fps is different according to the Airguns of Arizona and Pyramid Air website.

I bought an HW45 standard from Rogerio at Mundilar for 281 euros, all in. Shipping was about 2 weeks. Easy transaction. PayPal / VISA handles the currency translation.

Thank you as all the others when I search google for "HW45 for sale" are from the UK and so far it looks as they are unable to ship to the US.

With regardsto the fps difference it appears as the reduced fps for the HW45 might be due to lower restrictions in the UK vs US from what I can tell.

Ive owned 3 HW45 pistol. Sold 2 and kept 1. The one I kept is a Beeman P1 San Raffy .177 cal w/ Blue ribbon scope, Beeman rings and scope stop and walnut target grips.
Theyre great pistols. I bought mine for 200 bux...buy used.

I too had a good experience with Mundilar, but think it best to order more than one AG for best savings.

Thanks for the pointers guys. At this point I've kind of put this on hold as I kind of like the idea of iron sights over fiber optic and more power the b1 seems to have over the hw45. But the difference in cost is worth consideration as well.
