Well my trusty B3-1 finally bit the dust. It was shooting fine, grouped well, I even dressed it up a bit to give it that SK feel. I was shooting this morning before it got too hot out. The 5th shoot it sounded ok, but when I went to re-cock it it sounded like broken metal and wouldn't cock all the way. I took the stock off and pulled the end cap off the compression tube and the back of the spring guide fell out in my hands. LOL I guess it is a parts gun now unless I can find a rear spring guide or someone makes them. I will try Fling Dragon and see if Mike has one laying around any where. If it isn't too much I will get it from him, other wise it is a parts gun as I'm not paying more for the part than a new one is worth. It was a good little plinker while it lasted. Hope my other two don't suffer a similar fate.

Well, Mike sold his last one last month. Just my luck. Into the parts bin I guess unless someone makes one or has one to sell......

Put as many pieces back together, as you can, and take some measurements. Post in th the machinist gate. Someone on the forum made one for me, but I can't remember who it was. You'll have to drill your own holes, for the cross pin, and the trigger lug. That's no big deal.
-
Yep, post some pictures of it. You just never know.... ;)

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to have to figure out how to relieve the spring tension as the whole back half of it is broke off and just have a cross pin there with the front half up inside the tube.

Here is a guide to make one out of steel.

Thanks Kevin much appreciated !!! I just bought a belt sander today so it was good timing. :D Looks like something I could do. I figure I can pop one out of my other ones and get some more accurate measurements. Heck I might make a couple and put them in the other ones if I do it right......... You have to love this site, people here are so great. Thanks everyone.

finally got it apart. The whole thing came out in like 10 pieces. I think there is enough there to get the hole measurements right. I am going to make it out of Delrin, got an idea to do it rather easy if I can figure out the dimensions.I'll have enough to make extras, if it holds up, I will make some more out of the extra stock I have.

Quick update: I was bored, (a dangerous thing), and was looking at a spring and rear spring guide I had for an old Tac-1 B19 springer I had. Just for giggles I wondered if it would fit and work in the B3. Well it is a bit narrower, and the pin hole is quite a bit larger, and the rear bolt does fit through the guide where the stock screw goes. So... I decided to try it. I had a spring from the Tac-1 and the spring guide and I levered them in with out a compressor. To my surprise, it cocks easier, no twang, and with less pre-load and a stouter spring, the trigger is smoother, and it has the same power as before and maybe a bit more. Having "extra" parts around helps to Goldberg these things together sometimes, that and a lot of luck. so I "fixed" it for now. I ran about 50 pellets through it and it feels great, shoots smoother, and didn't cost me anything in money to fix. I was going to go through the whole Delrin saga and try to make one that way, but decided I didn't have the necessary equiptment to make that a reality. so good luck smiling on me and ingenuity helped today make my day.

I missed this post- great news- makes me want to dig into my B3, but just like my last one, I gave it away once it was broken in. The current owner has 13 squirrels in the last 3 weeks. The only complaint from the him: "Why didn't you tell me these shot so well last year?"

Glad to see I am not alone in the world (sounds like my thought processes)..... I am not sure, but I think that's a little scary ;)

i have b3 rifle it seems like a decent one. its got the good rear sight. the front sight is alright. the front sight has fine threads at end of barrel what they for? stupid question? front sight rivited over threads.
-
I don't know, I have never seen a front sight on a B3 with threads on it.
-
They aren't threads. They're marks from sloppy lathe work.
-
Scott, Sloppy work on a B3? Why, I have never heard of such a thing, ha ha ;)
