Here is mine. It has a 2260 tube with a Magnumairpower Disco valve, 22cal. Disco barrel, Prod trigger, BNM repeater breech, and shroud, 13ci tank reg. at 1400psi. and power adjuster. Hawke SF 3-12x40 scope. I have it tuned to shoot JSB 18gr. ammo at 820fps. I find this gun to be just fine for backyard tree rat control. Now lets see some of those cool Frankenguns.

Here's mine. Not finished but getting close. It's a .25 pellet shooter at 50 fpe and .22 cast bullet at the same power. (Waiting for a bullet mold and not tested in .22 )
-
Which are you going with (barrel) for the cast .22..?
-
I'll try a 1:17.7 Lothar Walther. I know it's recommended for a faster twist but I can't help but try.

Nice looking shooter you have their.. Are you gonna swap barrels or do you have 2 breech assemblies?
I am working on the same thing but in a Prod version with 25 cal GM barrel and 22 cal JG HF 20" barrel.
Here is the photo of the two Prods together. 25 cal mini rod with 22 cal Prod w/12" barrel. I have another breech with the JG HF barrel on it with a Rocker1 LDC.

NICE! I have been thinking of turning my frankengun into a 25cal. and modding my prod. Keep the pics. coming, very cool
-
I'll be swaping barrels w/ breech block . The blocks with new bolt can be bought from BNM for a lot cheaper than a complete breech.
-
This is a pretty straightforward 2240 HPA conversion retrofitted with a .177 Disco barrel. Tuned to 13fpe for 240 shots on a standard Ninja bottle at 850psi. But the best part is that in calm wind it will consistently vaporize 1/2" Mardi Gras beads at 40 - 50 yards using Air Arms 8.4gr or JSB 7.3gr.

Jason,
Nice looking, great shooting and 240 shots before needing to refill.

Nice looking 2240KT
Here you go..
-
thank you Randy and thanks for the repost. I don't know why it would not post for me. All I saw was an X
-
Geoffrey,
Anytime, I don't know why you got the X either?
I use photobucket and just go to share photo, chick on img and paste it in to the post.
-
Hey Geoffrey, I really like your 2400KT. I have a 2240 carbine build, that has a boss valve. I'm shooting JSB 13gr. ammo at 635fps and only get 20 shots out of a cart. I think your co2 mod is my next mod for my gun. and with a power adjuster I might get a little more fps. Thanks for sharing
-
I think all my builds are Franken guns :)
Top pic is a current project, may become a HFT rifle for next season.
Bottom pic is a project in testing phase, it sends bolts, not lead ;)
I can't get enough of the 22xx platform. It's a modders dream.
-
WOW Eric! You have some cool guns there. I need to get back to Modding. I have been side tracked with some other guns. All PCPs. I'm not having as much fun with them as I do with the frankenguns. I only have two frankenguns and the co2 one has been visiting my neighbor for two months now. He needs to buy it from me or have me build him one. Thanks for sharing.

Eric - Is that a stock barrel band that the AR rail is mounted to on your .357 build?

Eric - Is that a stock barrel band that the AR rail is mounted to on your .357 build?
No, the .357 uses 2 stainless steel barrel bands from Mr. Don Cothran. The AR quad rail is a clamp style, it uses 6 screws total to cinch down on the bands. I use several spirit levets to insure the rail is level with the breech. Works very well.
The base of my .357 is a SS 2260 tube, one of Dons Powerhouse valves, a SS breech, SS barrel bands and a TJ liner. Dons SS pieces are very excellent quality, I highly recommend his stuff.
Any other questions, feel free to ask away, I looooove talking airguns ;)

Hey Eric
What kind or brand of breech riser is that on the pistol thats in the bottom of the pic on the table above?
What kind of FPS you get out of it?
Is it .22 or .177?
They all look great.
Any problems getting those reg/bottle adapters to mount to the crosman tubes?
Thanks
Ray

The pistol you spotted is my 9mm custom. I purchased it used, I did not build it.
It uses a 2250b tube, triple anchored valve and dropblock. I believe it's got a flowed Disco valve, it uses a rear cocker setup.
Using a .357 sizing die on JSB pellets, mainly for uniformity and easy pellet loading.
The 13ci tank is regged at 1000psi, yielding 20+ shots at 450fps for just under 38 fpe. Not a long distance shooter, but within 50yds, it has good effect.

9mm, thats makes it even more cool!
It looks great.
Thanks
Ray

Prod trigger group, 2260 tube, Steel breech, extended probe, 18" barrel, PCP converted, heavily modified 22XX valve, a couple of custom machined fittings, a little brakeline plumbing, some standard Crosman parts,
and we end up with the "Ron's Radial Rodent Reaper".

1720-ish / 55-ish
as a disclaimer,
I DO NOT recommend for others to go this high on the regulators, without having access and skills to precision machining and a full comprehension and understanding of ALL the components used, and their max working load capacities.
You MUST be an Experienced, and Knowledgeable Airgunsmith BEFORE Attempting This Level of Build on this type of platform.
If you Do Not have previous and extensive skills in this type of work,

Okay, a bit of a cross-post here ...
I wanted to post in this thread a while back, but it took me a while to get some of the kinks ironed out. The gun started life as a CCS 2400kt... It is now more of a Disco. I like my iron sights, so it sports a .050" Williams aperture rear sight with a spirit level epoxied to it and my own poor man's "globe" site up front. It has a standard Crosman .177 24" barrel (touched up using a walkthrough provided by Nervoustrigger) and a standard issue Disco tube. The Disco valve has a marauder poppet (thanks RSterne!) that has been turned down to a cone shape for aerodynamics. The oblong exhaust, transfer and barrel ports have been opened up to 100% of the bore area. The unpolished hammer floats almost completely frictionless in the tube due to an idea I got from SynrodSteve. Basically it rides on these little nylon nubs that lift it away from the tube body on all sides. Of course, it has a first gen Rsterne SSG made from a Challenger RVA that has had the degasser threads drilled out for the spring guide. I filed the front of the probe to be out of the way of the transfer port and then extended it with a broken .030" drill bit. The regulator is set at about 1475psi. All pertinent trigger/sear/hammer surfaces have been polished...
The bottle is held in place by the fitting on one end and a drilled out piece of plastic stock I had on the other. It is very solid. The hose clamp is on there to help keep the polyurethane transfer port sealed tightly. It's très chic!
I haven't had a chance (hopefully tonight!) to tune it yet, but so far it consistently blasts 16.2gr .177 JSB pellets at 978fps for over 34fpe (EDIT: Scratch that ... I don't know how 978 happened ... It is more like 940 max consistently reproducible). I was getting sub 1" groups all day long at 50 yards with the 10.34gr jsb heavies at 18fpe, we shall see how it does with some of heavier pellets. We shall see if my skinny probe causes any accuracy issues due to the small mark it puts on the backs of the pellets.

Springers can be frankenguns, too. The 1008 now qualifies as a single shot, break barrel, CO2 gun.
-
Very cool! I hadn't thought of building a springer Frankengun. I think I'm about to pull the trigger on converting my Frankengun into a 25cal.
-
Just thought I'd show off for a minute or two, why not right. It's a fairly simple design inspired by Jason's (aka nervoustrigger). Same basic design with just a few changes, mainly new valve instead of modifying the original, custom machined stock, I'm don't feel I'd be as good as Jason on making mine lol, 21" barrel, and the TKO muzzle break, this thing is ridiculously quite. I do need to track down and fix a small leak, almost positive it's coming from my valve oring now.
