Title: Sheridan 2260mb
Post by: jimbo on August 16, 2016, 07:35:20 PM
I was reading thru my owners manual today and saw where it said you shouldn't leave it charged with co2 if you're not using it for a while. Really, I had a crosman pellgun 180 for years and I always kept it charged up and never a problem. I thought that it was good to keep pressure in there for the "o" rings. So you put in a fresh co2 cartridge, shoot a couple of times and then if you think you might not shoot it again for a couple of weeks you have to just waste the rest of the co2 left? That's nuts!

Likely a lawyer warning....certainly, a rifle empty of co2 is of no danger of being fired by an inquisitive child/neighbor.

I agree with ribbonstone most likely a lawyer/cya statement. I leave all mine with co2 in them. The only problem I've come across is with the 22xx valves in the o-ring that seals the 2 hapves will swell from the gas when you take them apart.

I also intended to add this warning. Remember to apply a drop of 30W ND or Pellgun oil to the tip of the cartridge on those that use them. After leaving a couple of months the cartridge could stick. Mine have before. I just cocked and fired and it popped right out.

I too leave mine charged. My 2240 and my 3 QB's always have a charge on them, and I do oil them every time,( except the QB79). they are always ready to shoot and so far they don't leak.
