Title: .22 barrel measurements
Post by: moorepower on July 18, 2016, 01:47:40 PM
FYI I was curious about various barrel I.D.'s on .22's so I measured a few.
FD match  .2085 muzzle  .2125 breach
MM HF       .2065 muzzle  .2095 breach
Discovery  .2175 muzzle
PRod         .2165 muzzle

Now for the funny/ irritating, I bought a LW barrel a while back machined fore a MRod 24" .22 that the seller said he never put on, which "looks" to be true, but low and behold it is a .20!  It is .1935 at the muzzle and .1965 at the breach. I am guessing he put it on and a .22 pellet would not go in the barrel! So now I may turn an MRod into a .20 or get a BNM breach and build a .20 Disco. Either way I got it at a fairly good price.

I assume those were measured with gage pins, so they represent the land diameter?....

Yes, pins.
