Title: Why did I wait so long?
Post by: BJames on April 07, 2011, 10:55:40 PM
So I have only had the chance to put about 100 pellets thru me disco over the past few weeks, but this thing is awesome!  The only thing I could possibly complain about is that I think the trigger pull is too hard.  I think I'm moving the gun when I pull, and is not helping my accuracy.

I don't think I could go back to springers..lol!

Glad to see you finally got it Brian! What pellets does it shoot well? Trust me...that is probably one rifle you won't ever get rid of. Are you filling with a pump or tank?

bowhunt, yes I sure did.  I really like it!  I got the leapers 3-9 x 40 5th gen scope on it as well.  I bought 4 tins of pellets and am still testing, CPHP, JSB exact monster, H&N barracuda, and RWS meisterkulgen (sp?).  So far I've only tried them and the cphp's.  I think the CPHP were better, but its hard to say yet.  I'm filling with a pump, which not worthy a little, but it's good exercise right? Unfortunately, work is really busy right now, and when you're the boss, every bit of slack has to be picked up by me :) So I haven't been able to shoot as much as I'd like.

Yes I saw that one, and if it lightens up the pull, I will probably go with that, as well as the 6.5" break.

Thanks for the comments and reccommendations! :)

The Discovery is like crack cocaine for airgun addicts.  It will get you addicted quicker and harder than almost any other gun out there.  Enjoy it but don't forget we warned you!  LOL

that's basically the same thing as in that posts http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,10977.0.html (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php/topic,10977.0.html)
except tko is providing the parts and directions. read and reread those directions. how much the sear engages the bolt is important to how your trigger will feel. the more of that sear your pulling across that hammer bolt = more creep and drag = weight. get it too light and it will go off when you don't want it to. with gun unloaded and cocked but the but of the gun on the floor to see if it will fire. cock and and take the safety on and off to make sure it won't fire. those screws will give you the adjustments needed to make that an awesome trigger just test it carefully please.

I watched a video on YT showing the trigger spring and adjustment screw mod..doesn't look too hard actually.  What do I use for a spring though?

If you have a good local hardware store. take your old spring and match it up to some thing about same size but a little weaker. get several springs to try for couple $ tops. not wanting to sound like your dad or some safety freak but please test it unloaded. i really hate reading those post about someone getting killed or losing an eye etc.  Or the tko kit http://www.tko22.com/ (http://www.tko22.com/) has all parts included for $14. You will still need to install it.

Cool, thanks for the tips, yes of course unloaded, but I totally get it...you wouldn't have to say it if someone hadn't made that mistake already.

I may just be placing an order with tko very soon.
