It's been a whole weekend since some of y'all got your Maximus - and we're still sans info here in the main Darkside forum!

I haven't had much time to shoot mine but it shoots just like a disco, hits right where I aim...cocking it seems harder than my two discos and it loud also...stock is light and a little longer than the discos...I try to get a shot string soon...

I'd forgotten we have a review section. Only one review so far. And it's not for the .177 version. ;D

I thought it was a Discovery with a synthetic stock?
Synthetic stock, longer barrel, different sights. Otherwise it seems like it's pretty much a Discovery with a new look.

Basically it is with a 26" barrel.

i did not get exited about it. at all it seem to me like the disco. i got the disco and honest don't impress me much i use my disco with open sights just for follow up shots when i go to pick up my kills if they are still alive. i don't know if i wrote it right. maybe you did not understand nothing i said. hahahaha

Paul, when the Specifications sheets for the two rifles are placed side-by-side, there is not many differences. If someone is interested in an entry level PCP with a synthetic stock, the price makes the Maximus rise rather high in the runnings. The longer barrel facilitates attaching the fill line if an LDC/Shroud had been installed. That is one BIG plus. Keep watching and you will likely see many modifications to the butt plate end of the stock too. The need for a second barrel band has been almost entirely eliminated. The sling studs are already installed. Shot count of my Maximus .22 seems to be about the same as my Discovery .22. This rifle has some good features; but it ain't a Daystate; nor is it intended to be.

and I just bet at 30 yards a shot from a 22 Synco will be as deadly as any 22 ever produced and if you don't think so check out my post in the hunting gate.i think it the first Synco pest/game kill.that bandit didn't know what rifle that pellet came from..

Thanks, Mike. Nope, it's not a Daystate, but you can outfit the whole family with a Maximus each plus handpump for what a Daystate would cost. ;D And that's what attracts many of us - a decent rifle for a decent price.

Here's the link to the first reported "in the wild" Maximus, but you've got to scroll down 'til you get the first shooting report.
