I bought one of these back in 2008 and a couple weeks ago the reticle canted to the left. This was my backup go to scope and was used on my PCP, spring, C02, centerfire, and rimfire rifles. Even though it is spring gun rated, that's not listed on web page.
This is a big entry level practical tactical scope with rear parallax adjustment in METERS and I liked the no bells and whistles.
I called SWFA customer service to have it repaired and she said send it back for evaluation and they would replace it with a new one. I requested an upgrade to milquad reticle one tenth mil turret version of the same cost, she said swfa could that.
I had wanted the mil quad reticle since it became available and now I have one, thank you SWFA. IMHO I recommend this scope to anyone who wants an entry level practical tactical 10x rifle scope.
OBTW This scope is also available with MOA quad reticle moa turrets.

SWFA scopes are awesome. But they are more than juat entry level tactical scopes, they are actually wartime tested. The original 10x scope is the scope the navy used and still uses in small numbers on the barrett 50BMG sniper rifle. I was told it was used in other branches but the navy was the one with the contract. That is why the classic line remained the same for so long and the adjustable version took so long to come out. Because it is still technically in service and that it has a NSN, any changes to the design have to be submitted to the DOD for approval.

Michael is right it is war time tested. Had to meet military (NAVY) contract specifications. Tasco had those requirements met but had no way to move them. I think it was branded by Tasco..notice i said branded...tasco doesnt have any tooling manufactoring, or anything to build scopes they are just a name. They own no factories, just branded by them. I believe there were going out of business or in money trouble and I think thats when SWFA picked them up. Since then they have changed some things on it. When they did they had to get permission from the US government
They are engineered for forward bolt impulse. The lenses are threaded in and hold very well. I mounted this on my cousin FAL and it did great it lasted. AR-15 it did great. Great scope for sure. I ahve one at home and plan to buy another one for my marauder. usually around black friday you can catch them on sell for around $400 bucks
