Title: Upgrade to Sharpshooter
Post by: rsterne on June 10, 2016, 01:04:24 AM
I just thought I would share a target with you from my .30 cal Grizzly, shooting 44.8 gr. JSBs at 970 fps (94 FPE).... The target was shot at 100 yards, the yellow circle is 4 MOA and the green one is 2 MOA.... and the small squares are 1/2".... The group measures 1.3" C-T-C.... It was shot from a bench in very light winds....

The gun is a 7-shot repeater, based on an XS-60c, and uses a TJ's 26" twist liner with a CF sleeve.... It has a 22CI 3000 psi tank with the output regulated to 2200 psi, mounted on one of my own reversed tank blocks.... I used a Hatsan air stripper.... The group above was shot with a Hawke 3-12 x 44 SF Varmint Scope.... not the one in the photo....

It is also the first gun I fitted with what has become known as the SSG to ease the cocking effort while increasing the efficiency by eliminating hammer bounce.... The groups were shot at the range at my camp, the photos of the location are in my previous qualifying thread.... It gave me great pleasure to do this with a gun I built, and a barrel I helped design.... I get 3 magazines (21 shots) per fill, the first 18 are within a 1% ES.... Tethered without the regulator at 2900 psi, it will shoot my 70 gr. BBTs at 950 fps (140 FPE)....

Good shooting Bob. Is there no rule on the target to be shot, just checking, I want to be sure I use the right target if it matters?
Never mind Bob I found my answer: 6. Any target may be used that is clearly marked with a 4 MOA circle centered at the point of aim, or if the target is not larger than 4 MOA at the range shot.

Hi Bob
Sorry I missed that one. That is why I asked members to let me know if I missed their target. I will make the update tomorrow morning.

How have you been ? I've been fine and as you well know I have basically shut Discos R Us down and trying to sell it.

I had had enough of it and it was time to stop. The Lady next door complaining about my shooting was the final straw.

Anyway whenever she leaves I soot but I need to be careful she does not come home without my knowing it.

Have a good one

Norm

Doing great, Norm.... Yes a great pity about DiscosRUs.... always a shame to see a quality airgun firm close up.... Your stocks were great, I still have one on my Disco Double....
