Title: SMK or SNOW PEAK CR600W TUNING INFORMATION
Post by: Dangermouse on June 07, 2016, 04:21:05 PM
Hi
Just bought.22 Cr600w, and not to pleased with the power output
the best I can get is just over 7 pound/foot. The legal limit here in the
Uk is 12 pound/foot, can anybody out their suggest how I can squeeze
a little more power out of this beautifuly made lightweight rifle.

7 fpe too here in The Netherlands. I have the .177. Increasing power can probably be done by increasing the hammer spring tension. However, CO2 consumption and loudness will go up. Since this gun is not a competition gun and only used for garden plinking out to 15m, 7 fpe is fine.

Changing TRANSFER TUBES I.D. size likely will do the trick.

You're right. Might increase MV without increasing CO2 consumption. However, is often a more difficult and sometimes  irreversible modification. Don't know whether that's true in this case, because i haven't taken this one apart yet.

Pull the stock transfer tube and save it ... manufacture a replacement so sizes can be fooled with and coming full circle can put the stocker back in if needing too.

Just got a .22 fr mrodair here in the US.  Converted it right away to HPA adding an external 13ci Ninja tank at 1100 psi.  Shooting at 10.85 foot pounds using the crosman 14.3gr at 580+ fps.  Might try adding another hammer spring inside the existing one.  There's a thread somewhere on how they did the same trick on the CP 1 pistol. Maybe stretching it slightly might do the trick as well. Hope I can push it close to 12 ft lbs for field target.
