I bought this pistol today. I've read what I could find about it and it sounds pretty awesom. It had a "complete overhaul " in 2009 by Rudolf Marent in Texas. I'm a springer guy, so my question to you all is what should I look for? Any thing I should do before charging and firing? I will add pellgunoil to the tip of the cart and fire first rounds across chrony. Any info on this sweet pistol would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Higgs
I posted something about this in the German gate but not getting much of a looksee.

HAd one until 2005 (Hurricane took the house and all in it).
The end cap is a weird complication, which can be set to vent the gas from the 12gr. once it drops past a certain pressure. IF you find it venting a bit early, adjust it. Normally I'd just adjust it "out of play" and just keep track of the shot count.
Trigger adjustments seem a little "old school"...little changes can make unexpectedly large difference (or on occasion, no difference at all). Once you find a spot that's "good" you'd best stay there (old adage: the enemy of good is better).
Not fast, and likely best NOT to try to make it fast. Get a lot of very accurate shots per 12gr., if you want to go faster, pick a different pistol.
Balance is weirdly "neutral" for so long a pistol. HAs a whole lot of weight above and behind your hand, so the "wobble" of holding it is near the middle...which makes the front sight "wig" one way and the rear sight "wag" the other. You can get use to it, it's just not quite like most pistols.

Ribbonstone, thanks for the reply. I got to shoot it a few times tonight, it's quite the pistol! Across the chrony, it's doing about 440 fps with 8.1 gr. I found the balance quite nice but I didn't get much time with it and only shot at ten yards. I'm not a pistol guy but this one is easy to shoot accurately. I'll shoot some groups with it tomorrow, if not too embarrassing, I'll post pics.
You ever wonder where Mother Nature took that pistol? You know it's somewhere... Not to get off track but, that had to be a horrific event to experience! Loosing everything to a hurricane...
