Title: Omega Air Charger Air Supply Station
Post by: J. Gordon Knives on April 25, 2016, 07:21:45 PM
I'm looking at purchasing an Omega Air Charger Air Supply Station from Airguns of Arizona. This is NOT the more expensive($1879) "Super Charger" compressor but the cheaper($1395) "Air Charger Air Supply Station."

I've researched good amount on these and almost everything I've read has been positive. I have gotten one or two of the typical "it's Chinese &^^&" comments, but they weren't substantiated. I'd really like to here from owners of these.

Do any of you folks have one of these? From my understanding the cheaper model doesn't have the programmable auto-bleed system or the hour log meter. Other than those two features AoA said it's pretty much the same compressor, only without the cover.

Now I'm a hobbyist with air gunning an won't be shooting hundreds of rounds a day, or even a week. Do you guys think it will work for me?

What should I get with it? Any filters? I've heard some say that I should run one but AoA told me it had one built in and that I didn't NEED one but could use one to add extra protection.

I'd really appreciate hearing everyone's opinions on these compressors. Please, if you have a real negative opinion or experience, please back it up with an explanation or info regarding your conclusion.

Thanks everyone!

I bought mine used, (the lower end model without the case) thought it would help with running cooler. It had 20hrs on it and looked new. Got it for $1175 to the door.  I installed an hour meter and a water temp gauge. I also did the air intake mod with Drierite filter.
Here's a link to it

You definitely need an air dryer before the tank. Don't know anything about a built in air dryer. Just the manual bleed. And you'll see moisture there. I have noticed a lot less, hardly any moisture when bleeding since I installed the Drierite filter. Currently I have the diablo filter but I'm on the list for this filter.

Oh the AoA rep said it had a moisture collection piece but not an dryer.

That looks like a very interesting moisture filter. I'd like to get one too. Any idea untill he'll have them available? I registered on that forum but it has to be approved before I can log in. Do you have any contact info for the guy who sells that 6000psi moisture? I'd like to get on a list too.

Thanks for your response!

I spoke with AoA earlier today and I guess they have the more expensive one in stock but not the cheaper one. Is the auto-bleed feature really worth the $400+ more than the cheaper one?

Also, does anyone know if there's another company that sells omega compressors stateside?

Check with Joe @ airtanksforsale.com  He used to sell the Alpha90 - same as the air charger just a different name.  Get his # from the website and call him.

I have a version prior to the Alpha90/Omega with almost 20 hours.  It has been great.   No, I would not spend $400+ for the auto-bleed and computer case.  You can get an Hourmeter from eBay for about $10 shipped and maybe 20 minutes to install it.   My version didn't have a radiator and fan nor an hour meter.  I added all of that myself.

I contacted him about the Alpha 90 a short time ago, he said he was done selling them as they had too many issues.

Am thinking we ended up with one of the LAST Alpha 90's Joe had ... this was @ December of last year.
It DOES have the water cooling, tho no hour meter ( added after the fact )
Only issue has been a burnt HP check valve that was easily replaced.

Mine has the water cooled / radiator as well. I also added the hour meter, water temp gauge and the air intake filter. Like I stated in the earlier post, the intake filter defiantly removes moisture and the last fill I did Sunday, 3100-4500 (55min)  hardly any moisture during manual moisture bleeding.

Oh yeah..no problems with 30hrs and counting.  8) (knock on wood)  ;)

No personal experience but I spoke to the gentleman who owns airgunsoftexas at the Malvern Arkansas show this past weekend.  He had positive things to say about the base model Omega compressor stating he had used one in his shop for quite some time to fill both his cylinders as well as those of customers and said he had no issues with it.  He said it was the same unit as the more expensive one less the convenience features and said he would buy the base model.

I have owned a Super Charger for almost 2 years, the only difference is the timer, auto bleed and case around it. I have had no problems with it what so ever. I use it about an hour average a week. Just keep it clean and manually bleed off the moisture every 20 minutes or so and you should be fine.

If it lasts another year (which I am sure it will go a few more years) then it has more than paid for itself in time, money on fills, gas and wear and tear on my vehicle.

I highly recommend buying one.

You got that right! 1.5hr drive time to the dive shop, fill time, gas, hassles, etc

Does anyone know where to get these things, other than from Airguns of Arizona? They only have the more expensive($1900) Omega compressor at the moment. I have to buy a new truck in the next week or two and don't have enough cash to drop that much on HPA compressor.

They don't sell the Alpha 90 on AirTanksForSale.com anymore otherwise I'd just get one of those. Any ideas on a source would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone had any reviews or info on these compressors in general, I'd love to hear about it. I'm gonna have to move on a compressor this week at some point.

Of course if anyone wants to upgrade to a more expensive compressor and sell me their Omega, that would be great too. :D

Thanks guys!

Absolutely love mine and it got a good workout at the Fun Shoot this last weekend.
Jim at Precision AirGuns is a vendor here and sells these compressors. I suggest you deal with him before ant other non-GTA vendor.

Well I pulled the trigger on the Omega Air Charger Air Supply Station. I bought it, along with a 100cu/ft Omega tank from Precision Airguns. I also bought one of those 6000psi moisture filters from the guy over on talon forums. It has the molecular sieve already compressed and in a little sleeve like the once for sale on AirTanksForSale.com, only it's $260 instead of $450. It looks super well built. So I should have everything I need to fill my PCPs from now on. I ordered a .358 sizing die for my star lube-sizer and got my 9mm moulds out. I should be completely self-sufficient with ammo and air.

How extensive is the instruction manual for this compressor? Are there any websites that have info on these things? My main concern is how often I need to purge the water from the moisture trap.

Have you received the Omega pump yet?  I'm seriously considering it also.  I've been hand pumping for backyard shooting and actually don't mind the cardio exercise.  Refilling at the range is a different story.

I did get the Omega compressor. I've only used it once, to fill up my Omega 100cu/ft tank. It worked great though.
