A lot of nice home made gun stocks to be seen, just had to give it a go myself. Glued three pieces of birch plywood together for a total width of 45 mm. Have been thinking about the look for some time and ended up on a hybrid between a Slavia 631 and a Walther LGR.
Here's the first pic after rough cutting with a jig saw:

Fitted the action today. It's sturdy, everything works and it looks good - I'm happy! Now for a cold beer, more pics tomorrow.
-
Waiting, waiting, waiting...more pictures please!
-
Yes. Let us see it as you progress. I would bet that it will be good!
-
That is going to be a sweet rifle stock.

I assume that you are using baltic birch plywood? How many plys?

Baltic, yes. 3 x 15 mm, 33 plys in total.
Stock shaped and treated with epoxy. Pics tomorrow, I promise.

Great! Can't wait to see more pix.

Room for the action, rounded, soaked with epoxy:

Next:
- The action fits good, but I will do some bedding with epoxy and saw dust to secure it in place.
- Butt pad from cotton micarta.
- Hole for the anti bear trap release button.
- More attention to details, more epoxy and then some coats of polyurethane.
-
Nice work with router and chisels. Plywood isn't always the most friendly material when it comes to fine woodworking.
-
Not a fan of plywood, but that's good work man. Keep the updates rolling.

What kind of plywood did you use? Baltic Birch? Or something else? Looks almost like a Fir core...

As I said above: Baltic it is, 3 x 15 mm, 33 plys in total.

Whoops! :o
Missed that. Or just plain forgot since yesterday (CRS disease). Sorry for the repeat question.

Next:
- Butt pad from cotton micarta.
Please keep the updates coming.
I am especially interested in the mircata process. I have been toying with the idea of a set of pistol grips out of some cotton scraps I have been collecting in green, beige and black.

Looking good!

- Action bedded with epoxy and saw dust.
- New anti bear trap release button from steel.
- New trigger guard from stainless steel.
- Butt pad from cotton micarta.
- Stock bolts from stainless steel.
- More epoxy, then matt polyurethane.

I like the look. Did you use anything to keep the compression tube from sticking to the epoxy/sawdust mix (i.e., a "mold release agent")?

Plastic wrap, worked great.
-
Not only does it look cool, it will never warp.

Nice job! I like the trigger guard.
I built a custom stock for my benjamin discovery...the stock stock (hehehehe... Funny) was way too small for me, especially with a scope mounted.
Anyway, I'm going to put a marauder trigger into my Discovery and was wondering what I was going to do for a trigger guard. Honestly, without seeing your stock, I never would have thought to screw the guard right into the stock (instead of screwing it into the action itself like would normally be done). Great idea for diy stocks! I will brazenly steal that idea, thank you! :-)

I bought a Boyd's Blaster blank and I want to fit it to an HW97K. Stock makers I have contacted won't do it. Looks close to a DYI project at this time. Going to a wood working supply store here in town to look at tools. I know my way around a router, drill press and chisels. Wish me luck.....

Terry,
Here's an example of what someone has done...

Good luck and post some pix.

Take it slow and measure often. I did a blue laminate Blaster for my D34 a couple years ago. I have another uninlet camo Blaster that I plan on inletting for my QB58 at some point. Though it will have to wait, as I just got a USFT and am busy getting it setup for Temecula.

Some finishing touches:
- A stainless steel washer as sleeve for the anti bear trap release button:

- Trigger shoe in place. Yes, it's upside down, feels better that way according to my finger:

- The gun after another two coats of varnish (a glossy marine grade type):
