My Sheridan goes 'shshsh' when I pump it and does not build up pressure. Is it really bad? Can I fix it easily?
-
Have you been keeping it stored with 2-3 pumps in it? Have you lubed it regularly?
-
Try cocking the gun, then pumping it.

Yes I have left with 2 pumps, and I did lube with oil.

I tried that several times and no change.

This came up a month ago. Try cocking the gun first, dribbing some alcohol into the air hole, then pumping and firing the gun. (Wash, rinse repeat ;))

If it sounds like it's coming from barrel it's the valve stem seal. If it sounds like it's coming out the front right pass the pump cup, it's the check valve not seating.

I want to thank you all, and say that you guys are great! I followed the instructions with the alcohol and it worked. The Sheridan is shooting good again. Thanks again, this forum is the best.

You're lucky to have gotten off Scott free, and not have to shell out any money to fix it 🙊🙈🙉 (maybe I shouldn't jinx you )
When my gun had trouble it turned out to be a broken valve stem.

I don't know what to say, I shot it today and it seems fine. I haven't shot it across a chrono, but it seems to hit hard, makes a good sounding 'whack' when the pellet hits the steel trap.

when you get around to chronoing it, you should be getting mid 600's, with 14 gr pellets, at 8 pumps.

great info and refresher for me. Mines doing the same thing again.
