I am tuning my 1000x I have a question about getting the seal off the piston also the new seal I have is a yellow one with a groove on one side when that goes on which way does the groove face forward or back ward thanks guys
-
Should be pretty much the same as my Hatsan Edge and all I used was a small flat blade screwdriver to very carefully pry the old one off. The new one goes on with that groove facing out...I used just a bit of moly around the edge of the knob it presses onto to help get it on easier.
The picture is the piston with new ARH seal from my Edge
Hope this helps a little :)

Thanks you don't have a picture of the piston looking straight at the seal do you thank you

Don't have one of mine but Methuselah has been working on a 125 so I hunted down the thread and borrowed his picture. The end of the piston on my Edge looks just like this one.
Flat side of the seal goes against the piston, side with the groove faces out and the seal gets pressed on to the metal knob in the center.
Hope this helps.

That's why people call it a parachute seal. Heat it in boiling water and it goes on easier.

That was the surprise on mine. I never heated it, just set it on the bench with the grooved side down, set the edge of the knob inside it at an angle and then pressed down on it while sliding the piston forward until it was straight up and mine popped right on.
